Olssons fee rising to £1m....wow!!

That is fantastic money!!

I too think it is good money for him given the circumstances. The fact Lambert hasn't really put up a fight to keep him and pretty much ostracised him tells me he wasn't rated too highly by Lambert. Tommy Spurr (who played well on Saturday) can do a job but longer term I'm sure Lambert will have somebody in mind as part of his succession planning.

Think Olsson is a better attacking player than Spurr, but Spurr is better at defending(slightly) lol so i think Lambert has decided that he would rather tighten up at back, which isnt saying much as Spurr does get caught out alot if he is up against a quick winger

Olsson on his way to Derby, good deal by the look of it. Will mean PL will look to get a left back in to compete with Spurr.

So two more ins expected.

One player that is highly rated in u18s Lewis Mansell could be one for PL. Look what Adam Armstrong did at Coventry 18 years old.

If Olsson wants to sit on Derbys bench for an extra couple of quid a week then let him. I prefer him to Spurr but his head is gone now and he's had a contract on the table but obviously wants away. One or two of his performances this season have been suspiciously poor. A disappointing situation to be in but he has to take most of the blame for it imo.

In his time here he's only ever looked half decent last season and he was after a contract extension then, strange they didn't give him a longer one but he looked a very poor player before that.

at least Spurr hasnt moaned at sitting on the bench, and wanting out.. I dont recall him throwing his toys out the cot, so if not, then i would rather play him than somebody who thinks he is all that

I would try to get Henri Lansbury and Eric Lichaj in.

We tried Lansbury before, he didnt want to come here.

Agree, I like Spurr and his attitude and commitment can never be questioned. Just think he's struggled since he came back last season.

If we are looking for a left back I would look towards Ajax. Their former captain Nicolai Boilesen is available for 300.000. He told the club he wanted to leave and has been moved to the reserve squad since a move in the summer didn't materialise. I think Wolves has been checking him out.

I think henley should be good enough cover for both fullback positions until somebody of real quality becomes available, im getting a bit bored of us just signing journeyman squad players, id like us to either sign quality players that will enhance the 1st team or give our youth a chance now.

Well another weekend of lower league players performing.

The little lad Oztumer at Peterborough scored again, not seen the goal yet but surely wouldnt cost the earth.

Bradley Dack again finding the net for Gillingham, could well get him for a decent fee as he's being overshadowed by Washington.

Paddy Madden got 2 at the weekend, this lad definately wouldnt command a high fee shoukd be taking a look there.

Spurr is a good championship player mate. He was brilliant for us before his injury. I don't get the haterz at all.

I reckon we'll sign three. Ball playing CM, a no.10 and a LB. for what it's worth I reckon one of those will be a big name...best is yet to come in this window Imo.

Love the optimism! Would be fantastic if we did bring in players to fill those 3 gaps.

I think haters is the wrong word, more that people don't rate him too highly (although it appears that haters is the new BRFCC description for not rating). I don't see him as a long term solution, only for the rest of this season. If we are to seriously challenge next season we need somebody better in.

Spot on, and that goes for several other positions as well.

I've seen Madden numerous times (when I was based in the SW) and IMO he isn't Championship standard. He can certainly do it at League One level though. I can't see it this window due to the fear of FFP, but come the summer I definitely agree that we should look at some lower league talent as you suggest. Before QPR snap them all up that is (FFP, what FFP?).

Perhaps it was you who months ago made the same point about Madden, hence why he probably wouldnt command a huge fee...
