Well another weekend of lower league players performing.

The little lad Oztumer at Peterborough scored again, not seen the goal yet but surely wouldnt cost the earth.

Bradley Dack again finding the net for Gillingham, could well get him for a decent fee as he's being overshadowed by Washington.

Paddy Madden got 2 at the weekend, this lad definately wouldnt command a high fee shoukd be taking a look there.

Madden is an interesting one. When he got promoted to the Championship with Yeovil he was fantastic in League One, but struggled in that Yeovil side. Reminds me a bit of Joe Garner at Preston, who has also failed to set the league alight thus far.

You can cut the lad some slack that Yeovil were awful in the Championship and have since had consecutive relegations and are now down the bottom of league two.

Dack at Gillingham is probably a better bet for someone who could do it at this level.

Given our current ins this window, talk of Lansbury, McGeady etc. seems pie in the sky talk.

I would agree, I don't think we will get anyone of notably better quality. Another false statement by Lambert, didn't he say we were only signing players to make the 1st team better or words to that effect.

Put that statement with the others in the " I was kidding" bin.

I don't think anyone has ever taken what any other manager has said so literally, so I'm not sure why it's the case with Lambert all of a sudden!

In any case, the summer will be the time we can bring the better players in. Especially when you consider how many are out of contract, frees up funds on the wage bill etc.

Wouldn't mind Lambert showing a bit of initiative and offering low fees for players nearly out of contract to bring them in earlier.

We need them because we are in a relegation scrap.

Bowyer got some pretty heavy (but deserved) analysis of his comments towards the end of his tenure, but Lambert's been rounded on by some from the word go. A lot of the people who were willing to give GB until the end of time to drag us down have been hyper critical of Lambert from day one.

I think Lambert simply underestimated both the ability and mentality of the players he was inheriting. Hence the poor football on display and squad players being brought in. I don't expect it to improve much this season, but hopefully next season we'll still be in the Championship and very few of the current squad will be anywhere near the first team. Once Lambert is able to jettison these losers I'm hopeful we'll see his promise of better football achieved.

The lad at Walsall is the best on offer in league 1, has the attributes to make it in the championship. Dack has done well but not convinced he has what it takes to make it as a midfielder in the championship. Already turned down Bristol City this window, but then everyone turns down Bristol.

I notice Steve Sidwell hasn't been getting much game time at Stoke and looks to be out of contract at the end of the season. Could be another option for a try before you buy deal. Even though he's 33 now he's still better than most of our current midfielders.

Apparently making bids though other sources did also suggest a loan. Yes he is out of contract at the end of the season.

Thanks Chaddy, always good to receive praise from you.

I think Bradshaw was my suggestion too, was he not? Note, this is sarcastic - I know I suggested him as a number 10.

I think he been a suggestion of quite a few of us tbf myself including.(plus Yourself and Neal)

Bradshaw has pace and scores goals plus good work rate and closing down defences.

Brighton have just signed him on loan that was ironic timing. A bit like a radar always seemed to go off whenever there was takeover news...

Shame. Would be just what we need right now. They probably won't let both him and Adam out on loan, so that's probably a no go too now.

Blackburn may have to wait on a proposed loan for Everton's Darron Gibson following injury to Muhamed Besic

Walsall also have an exceptional young left back in Rico Henry, lots of interest in him from the Prem but no official bids as yet.

He's definately one for the future but I doubt we have the funds to compete for him this window, even if we did a decent midfielder has to be priority.

mention him on Saturday night/Sunday as a replacement for Olsson

Is it a game of who can mention as many players as possible in the hope that one happens to sign and you get a modicum of reflected glory ?

Think the football manager games are getting well played...I'm trying to join in but I'm still on Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 and my best recommendation, Kevin Gallen has since retired.

Steele is fine in the way that John Filan was fine before we brought Brad in.

I still can't understand why he ever went to Aston Villa.

Incidently, where is Paul pay-check Robinson these days?

Yeah, there isn't any transfer news.............
