Nope. Not unless you purport to be a Burnley fan or have represented Burnley FC. There's a difference between someone who lives in Burnley who choses to support Rovers in their spare time compared to Rovers going out of their way to employ/sign someone who has no affinity to BRFC and who has previously shown loyalty to Burnley or Burnley FC.

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear enough. Of course I don't have a problem with genuine Rovers supporters who put their hard earned money into supporting Blackburn, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest where Rovers fans live or were born.

What bothers me is when people with a past allegiance to Burnley or Burnley FC are brought in to Blackburn Rovers when they don't need to be.

I don't want Barry Kilby to buy us, Alistair Campbell on our board of directors, I don't want Bob the Burnley fan earning a living in our club shop or selling burgers, I don't want self-confessed Burnley supporter Oliver Norwood running around representing Blackburn Rovers.

If that's me being childish or narrow minded then so be it. I don't like them and it would upset me to see any ex-Claret wearing blue and white or representing Blackburn. Duffy and Delfouneso is bad enough and they were only on short term loans, but someone like Norwood, who has admitted he supports them and his family wanted to see us relegated, I can't see past that for the sake of signing a player.

So you wouldn't want Charlie Austin for a knock down £4million (pretending we had 4million)?

Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I've just noticed Paulo Jorge has made a big move to TuS Erndtebruck of the German 4th division. How players like this signed for us when we were in the Premier League stinks to high heaven.

Considering it's been said that the owners or one of them has personally been putting in money for the instalments to pay for JR then it's entirely possible they might want it back, maybe even a profit on the investment.

After the sell on, agents fees, other fingers in the pie and associated costs we'd be lucky to have a million to reinvest. We'd then be relying on the generosity of the owners stumping up again, would that happen if they had an eye of getting rid of the club soon having got the initial money back for JR. It's a really ropey situation.

If all or most of the cash was going back in then fair enough although still a big gamble but considering PL has no guarantee he can spend the small amount we are getting for Olsson where does it leave us ?

Alert - Conspiracy = don't sell not worth it.

Technically, he didn't, we were relegated then. Your point still stands.

That's a daft thing to say.

Assuming Venkys aren't going to throw millions into a transfer war chest this summer, then Lambert will need to raise funds. £9m for a guy of his limited ability is a no brainier. How else is he going to improve us enough to challenge the top two positions?

Shock horror ..den slates Rhodes

Den, the last thing we need at this present time is to lose Rhodes. Yes, he's a limited player and not worth the £9m apparently on offer but we're in a relegation fight in my opinion and Rhodes is one of the few players we've got who will help us avoid it. By all means, sell him in the summer (as long as the money is reinvested in several better quality players) but not now.

Well we'd probably take a punt on someone cheap and young who might notch a few and increase in value. Second to that would be one or two maybe like Vaughan, Wells who've proven to score goals in this div but are injury prone and you'll get nowhere near the Rhodes level of goals or appearances.

Burnley had to invest 3 mill plus contract on Grey to more or less guarantee goals, can you actually see that happening here ?

No, neither can I.

That's exactly what I've said Jim.

If the owners aren't going to plough millions into the club for transfers, then I would sell him assuming that the money was made available to the manager. There's an answer. It was easy.

What would you do?

I can just as easy say the if owners are going to plough millions in the club for transfers, so we do not sell him.

Even the other way round I would still not sell him . There's an answer. It was easy. :tu:

Sell who we don't want to keep first. I know that is not easy but did anyone expect any money for Koita?

Did Dunny not attend a school in Burnley, or play for some Dingle team? or am i imagining that

Went to St. Augustines in Billington for a while. Some Burnley fans went there from Padiham/Clitheroe Schools, but it was in no way a Burnley School. Plenty of Rovers supporters to keep them in check and explain what aeroplanes are.

Pro-dominantly a Rovers school I'd argue. Not many going through passport control in Padiham in the mornings.

So basically you would continue along the same path. It's more important to keep hold of Rhodes than improve the squad sufficiently to challenge for promotion? Half the squad are out of contract in the summer and will need replacing before we even look to strengthening.

So to be fair we have just changed paths with a new manager.

My point really is not to sell your best player(s), and we can't assume that selling Rhodes would mean any money being reinvested back in the team.

Ideal for us all is that Lambert has been promised funds for the summer and does not need to sell anyone unless he wants to.

I've been an advocate of selling Rhodes as long as we can re-invest but at this stage of the window? Nah. Unless it means getting a couple off them like Kike and Forshaw plus some cash then i'd be all for it.

They currently sit comfortably in the relegation zone as well, 9 points adrift from safety.

So likely to drop down to the 5th tier of German football next season.

We sold Olsson for 1 million ?!

1?!

In a world where players who can't hit a barn door 10 times over go for 50 million, like Sterling, we sold our supposed star player for 1 million ?!

Is this direct sabotage? Or has Lambert lost the plot completely? This is outrageous.

I thought you were joking until I googled. I can believe he got a gig at Chievo before that. I can only presume daddy has tentacles in Italy.
