On Norwood. Can't see him wanting to join us anyway.

I know what JH was getting at, and my grandad was a Burnley fan (thankfully my dad chose Rovers and there's nobody from the town of Burnley in my family tree).

You have checked the number of fingers on each hand then!

I find it utterly astonishing that Dann is being mentioned as a player who may go to Chelsea or Liverpool. He looked like he couldn't stop a pig in a ginnel on numerous occasions at Rovers.

Dann only looked like he could be assed here after he knew there was interest in him from other clubs and he knuckled down for a few months. In his defence I also don't think he was fit at all until that spell but he mostly just looked like he was marking time here.

Almost as if an agent got an injured player a good contract at another club whilst he got games and got himself fit on a big wage with the sole intention of just using said club as a stepping stone to bigger things. That would never happen though would it

John souttar. .Dundee defensive midfielder latest name branded about on Facebook ..100k bid rejected

Highly rated throughout Scotland and broke into the Dundee side at 16... Could be a similar type of player to Phil Jones where he can slot into CB or CDM depending on injuries etc.

Tomphil, i was kinda being tongue in cheek, and i think Bumley spent a lot more than 3mill on andre Grey, try 6/7 according to the bumley fans here at work.plus his wages. (or do you just mean his wages)

:tu:

Don't know why I thought 3mill but yeah the bigger figure sounds more like it. Also kind of proves the not worth it point as to replace quality you have to spend money on quality and pay quality wages. Just cannot see us doing that and it's taken the dingles selling millions of pounds worth of players before the actually spent big.

Re Koita. Rovers are starting to show a bit of a trend with regards foreign lads that come directly from abroad. They all fail miserably. I understand that people think he's crap, but he has played for the French u21 side, in ligue 1, and now a Turkish top flight side want him. Not saying he's a world beater, but like Dabo, Modeste, Rochina the Portuguese contingent etc, we can't seen to get a tune out of any of them. I wonder if we're doing all we can to help these players settle. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to convince anyone these players were the real deal. But the fact remains they all bombed spectacularly. If rovers are only able to bring in UK based talent then we're severely restricting our market. Maybe someone at the club should be looking at this and asking questions of themselves and not just the player.

Big Sam used to invest a lot of time and resources into helping foreign players to settle in.

Maybe there is something in this

That's the rub.

Forget about Derby, Boro et al, they can do what they want.

If we were in no danger of being dragged into a relegation battle, then just keep the powder dry to the summer.

However, we arent too far away from the bottom 3 and if Bristol City etc. start bringing in decent players and we don't, then we may have a battle on our hands, and is this squad up fo rit?

I don't think there was ever much question about danns ability, it was more that he clearly hated being here from day 1 and it showed in his performances.

It took 18 months for him to put in a good performance. Poor player for us.
