Our relegation rivals are strengthenin ..Lee tomlin to bristol city ...could have used a player like him

Definitely. I hope we have a plan.

John souttar. .Dundee defensive midfielder latest name branded about on Facebook ..100k bid rejected

I don't believe anything on twitter or facebook but he's pretty decent. He's more of a CB but plays DM because he's good with the ball at his feet.

FYI - I'd happily have taken Fabbrini and / or Tomlin. But the time to judge our transfers is at 11pm on Monday night. The vast majority of business will be done this weekend and on Monday.

Contrary to what some are saying our owners a very rich and more than happy to spend. The losses are proof of that. I also know this to be the case through personal conversations. The reason we haven't been spending money is because of ffp. Simple.

The summer will be all the proof anyone needs re spending.

this one has Come from twitter then through Facebook

Hang on a minute! It started on Twitter and has now been through Facebook?!? Well that's that then. Hold fire with the Lie Detector fellas! I don't think we'll need that now. If I've got this right, someone's tweeted something and now someone's Facebooked it!

Sorry Adam, I know you're only repeating what you've read!

Danny Fox ? No thanks no better than Spurr or Henley. What is the point ?

Exactly. At the age of 29 and not being involved for ages then there is no point other than maybe a loan as cover till the end of the season. He's another one with the Everton connection though and also looks a bit of a mercenary so may be something in it. Fair enough he's experienced and Freedman is a tit so maybe they've just fallen out but Forest aren't good and have been in embargo yet he still hasn't been used.

Big wages maybe ? Need him off the books ? Here's Blackburn Rovers agent.........

No offence pal but you want us to discuss a player we are not linked with? Quick Twitter search can see Hearts have bid for him today.

Losing Olsson is a blow as

1 he's our or was our best left back and in ok form

2 he's vastly improved over the last 2 years. Ok not been amazing this year but far from one of our weaker performers thus weakening the team

3 we've done well defensively under PL and Olsson's been a key part of that

4 Olsson has pace the rest of the team doesn't.

5 it's another position PL has to sort out - as if he didn't have enough to do.

6 he's versatile playing at lm as well.

That said the lad had evidently thrown his toys out of the pram and didn't want to stay. With that in mind and the end of his contract coming up the fee for him was good money in the circumstances.

No point keeping players who want to leave. They're like bad apples in the barrel. He's only looked average plus in a bad team. Let's see what he does at Derby. Would you have given him a 3.5 year contract ? I don't think I would. Not enough end product in my opinion but you could say that about nearly every player at Rovers.

Koita gone, but the question is why was he taken on in the first place ?

Relatively cheap gamble I suppose, at first I thought it may pay off, for every couple of Petshis and Fodes there may be an Nzonzi.

In the summer that's the pond we were fishing in, hopefully we can survive this season and look to bring in better in summer

Not sure I would have tbh. Nor do i think we should've kept him given he wanted out - agree there.

However a 2.5 yr deal yes, and as said above lots of reasons why losing him is bad albeit some of those are because of the rest of the team's inadequacies. Regardless of why it's a blow to lose him, it's still a blow.

People forget that we had to throw a squad together in the summer. At one point, we were almost mirroring what Blackpool did the season before. We just brought people in for the sake of it in my opinion. Hopefully, from now on, every signing will have a purpose.

Not much of a blow really. I'd like to see a player in there who is a real full back. Olsson will never be that even if he lives to be a thousand. I can only see him being a success as a wing back if you play three centre backs.

We had to throw a squad together in the summer because we had been buying players with no plan for the 2 seasons before. Only being judged on if we could improve and make money on them.

There is a massive re-building needed, not only in terms of quality, but also due to the fact we started the season with 3 centre halves, 3 full backs, 3 wingers, 1 striker who had ever scored a goal for us, and a dozen central midfielders.

Lambert has already brought in a proven striker at this level, a back-up striker who has played in this league, a centre half with experience at this level. I'm sure he knows what he needs in terms of the squad, but Id imagine he's a little hamstrung by what he can spend, plus who is willing to sell / loan at this stage. Id imagine we may see another player or 2 in, given the 2 departures this week.

Agree to disagree then I think! At present it weakens the team for reasons I stated, but the right replacement could turn it into an excellent piece of business. I suspect though the right replacement might bit be too was to find...
