[Archived] Transfer Window - January 2016

Recommended Posts

I'm not bothered about Olsson leaving, but what bothers me is that we might not replace him. If we are going to depend on makeshift players filling in, then it's going to be a struggle to the end.

Let's not beat around the Bush here, unless we are working on Gibson and McGeady and a left back, then players like Tomlinson, Fabbrini etc could have been really useful.

And let's not kid ourselves, the people above Lambert are useless anyway ie the board and Venkys

Let's just wait and see where we are at the end of January.

If we don't sign a replacement for Olsson in the interim, it'll be disappointing, but if there aren't any bargains around we should be fine with Spurr & Henley.

Don't know anything about Souttar personally. Nixon might considering his Scottish connections but said he wasn't really responding to q & a until the window is over. Clearly as that's an Edinburgh publication there's only brief mention of Rovers. So the focus on Hearts wouldn't essentially mean they are a more likely destination.

Right so we are monitoring him then..Would be decent addition

Not necessarily, a paper like Edinburgh news will do a lot of its research on social media. If they've searched his name and seen Rovers fans tweeting about him that link will get a mention in the paper.

A Dundee United Twitter account linked us with him in 2013. I think some have searched Twitter for him and not read the date on the original tweet and then repeated it. Paper picks up on the faceless transfer accounts on Twitter.

Heres my thoughts, assuming nobody cares but its something to do on a Wednesday night.

PL knew Olsson was leaving as soon as Spurr took his spot in the first team. So he's been preparing for his departure by looking at other options for a couple of weeks now. Can't slow down the transfer to Derby as its good money - and can't play him because cant risk an injury. So theres a LB target, but we haven't heard anything of bids or players training at Brockhall. So nothing this week RE a new LB, but probably next week. In no rush, Spurr can play against Oxford.

CM/Creativity he's said we are looking for publicly, so I would expect one before Saturday. Graham isn't eligible for Oxford, so we'll be playing 442 with Jackson and Rhodes up front, with the new CM/CAM coming on for the last 20 as Jackson isn't fully fit.

Striker, Graham is a direct Fode replacement. Fode has been in Turkey since Saturday morning, so Graham was cleared once personal terms and fee had been agreed with Fode.

Think Olsson was done a long time ago, by that I meaning him agreeing contract etc with Derby. It's just been about us deciding to sell or lose on a free.

Agree with the rest.

Not much of a blow really. I'd like to see a player in there who is a real full back. Olsson will never be that even if he lives to be a thousand.

Well no, I can't imagine he will be by then. I mean, after 30 most players lose their pace and deteriorate physically. By 80 or 90 he will barely be able to move. Short of amazing leaps in medical science, by the time he is a thousand years old, he will most likely be a complete vegetable, or more like a shrivelled prune, likely having shrank to the same size. I'll be amazed if he can even open his eyes or put a coherent thought together, and he will be too busy perpetually leaking bodily fluids into his nappy to play second-tier football at left-back. I hope the poor blighter doesn't live that long.

You shouldn't make such ridiculous comments, tsk.

John souttar. .Dundee defensive midfielder latest name branded about on Facebook ..100k bid rejected

very good midfielder. out of contract this summer, so maybe Lambert is looking to sign him on a pre contract.

I'm just putting whats being branded about ..better to talk about something then nothing ..he's highly rated at Dundee apperntly

keep posting Adam. at least its something to discuss instead of taking the thread off topic or making insults

no thanks

good luck to the lad there. hope its works out for him

Why are we after a number 10?

We are clearly going to play 2 up front and we have 0 good central midfielders, surely we need 2 of them and a left back first?

maybe Lambert is looking to play a diamond shape midfield or maybe its a attacking midfielder/playmaker
