Is there an 'emergency' loan window this season?

Every signing we make appears to be an emergency

could a double swoop for McGeady and Galloway be on cards?

Just something about McGeady's attitude that worries me. He is not liked at Everton now at all. Been burnt before with your Bests and Ethtus, could easily be wrong though.

Galloway? Is this the young lad who has played most of Everton's games this season? And he's going to transfer to us, why? McGeady is ok but a bit temperamental and he's a bit confused as to his nationality as well. Might be worth a loan as he'd have some incentive to reignite his career that is going downhill.

Yes and also the lad who hasn't played since the return to fitness of Baines and Oviedo!!

Not a chance we could get Galloway been one of there better players this season.

As per above.

Why does he shut his eyes on the vinegar stroke?

You must think a vinegar stroke means something completely different to what I do, as there's no place for a vinegar stroke in football, regardless of how good a goal may be!

Why does he shut his eyes on the vinegar stroke?

I saw your original post about a player having closed his eyes while heading the ball, and without actually having seen the photograph at the time I guessed that your Duffy obsession was continuing.

I have now seen the photo, and I admit it intrigued me a bit because I never knowingly closed my eyes when heading the ball when I played, and like you I wondered whether this might be contributing to his poor strike rate with his attacking headers.

However a quick Google search showed plenty of photos of him with his eyes wide open when heading (plus a couple of others where it also appeared they were closed). I then thought I'd carry out the same exercise with some renowned exponents of attacking headers, including our very own Alan Shearer. There is photographic evidence there of all of them, including Shearer, seemingly with eyes closed while heading the ball, and the conclusion I would draw from all of this is that in all probability there is an involuntary blink at the point of impact with the ball, or immediately afterwards, which the camera sometimes catches and can be mistaken for the player having his eyes closed.

Nothing to see here JAL, move on.
