[Archived] Transfer Window - January 2016

Thinking about it one way. If this move happens then we're looking at an attack of Rhodes-Graham-Watt-Brown-Delfouneso, having gone into the window with Rhodes-Brown-Lawrence-Koita-Delfouneso.

We're losing 2 forwards in Koita and Lawrence, and bringing in 2 forwards in Graham and Watt.

This looks to me like a significantly stronger forward line than we had going in to January, whilst also being at a profit thanks to Koita's fee. Factor in that surely both Brown and Delfouneso will be down the road in May and the rebuild is well underway. Any club with serious aspirations will need 3/4 quality forwards, so I don't see why it automatically raises questions about Rhodes' future.

I'm not too comfortable with relying on loans all the time, I would like foundations towards a settled squad being put in place that the club can rely on for a couple of years rather than a few months, but appreciate the situation with January and FFP.

What type of player is Tony Watt? Pacey striker or link man?

Dont know much about him.

Tyrone, didnt know about this player until Kamy posted it on twitter.

From Paul Wheelock

Not long out of Paul Lambert #rovers press conference. He confirmed he was looking to sign two (attacking) players before Saturday's match.

Likes to get on the shoulder of the last man and play behind defenders, runs the channels well, he's quick too. Something we've been without for a long time, probably since Bellamy really.

Sounds from PL's press conference that its Watt and another attacker, I'm guessing this mystery number 10. I expect Lawrence to return to Leicester.

Reading the Chalrton Life forum, say he's a big talent, but attitude issues- i.e kicking off with his team mates etc.

Just what that half arsed bunch of ours need.

And he's quick?

He sounds perfect!

PL must to pretty confident about landing these two attacking players before Saturday to come out with it in the press conference. Done deals I'd guess. Managers are usually very coy about these things.

From another angle......when is Hoillet signing a new deal again?

Watt scored against Barca in the Champion's League as a teenager (winning goal at Parkhead I think)

I don't think he closes his eyes whilst heading either. Does anyone know who his agent is?

What's his vinegar stroke like ?

ooops, sorry, it's not 11:00 pm yet

A view from a Wales Online journo about his time with Cardiff.

Sign him quick. I like this bit apart from the leak bit of course!

"It’s only been three games, but Watt seems to have brought a new dynamic to Russell Slade’s side on the front foot. If the Bluebirds could barely buy a goal before, in their last three outings, with Watt up-front, Cardiff have suddenly scored seven even if they have started leaking them at the back."
