Don't give up the day job. Sandro on the wing ? I'm quicker than him and I'm 66.

What's his vinegar stroke like ?

ooops, sorry, it's not 11:00 pm yet

Like jumping on a tube of toothpaste.

Nixon...

Blackburn getting Tom Watt because of the size of the loan fee involved. Rivals in. Wouldn't pay the extras.

Been a long time since we have won the race for a player due to more financial muscle. Good that we're doing that bit extra to make it happen.

Nixon clearly isn't 'in the loop' as much as some would think. If he was then he would have broke this story about Watt, but he's only commenting now after numerous other news outlets have reported the interest.

Infact he's been very quiet on Rovers all January. He started the month off with his usual Rhodes to {insert name}, didn't pick up on the Simeon Jackson signing, and only mentioned the Graham and Ward signings when they were already in the building and were virtually signed.

i hope i'm wrong but anybody else fearing this could lead to a Rhodes exit ?

All our strikers are basically useless in front of goal except the usual one. Just think Lambert being an actual manager has made it a priority to get more goal threat in the team. Doesn't mean an automatic Rhodes exit for me but PL's probably got that in the back of his mind as well. No one knows if a big late bid will come in and be accepted.

The more strikers we have who can actually do something the better.

You can never have too many capable strikers. If you're going to compete at the top all season then you need at least 3 who are going to do the business, preferably 4.

Since we came down we've only ever had Rhodes and Gestede who can score. The rest - Brown, Delfouneso, Varney, Best etc. have been non-contributors.

No club can afford to carry 3-4 non contributors.

Middlesbrough and Derby have the right idea. Plenty of attacking talent yet that doesn't stop them continuing to try and sign more in January.

A one-in-one-out policy of bringing in people like Watt whilst letting Rhodes go isn't going to achieve overall strengthening. Bringing in Watt to work with Rhodes whilst offloading the dross that we have is going to see us stronger.

thats what i'm thinking ... with "replacements" like Graham and Watt already in the building it will be easier to accept that late bid

Also a good way of getting a huge lump of cash in without having to spend much if that happened  At least he's trying to get someone with some goals in him instead of the @#/? we've got in over the past couple of years.

From the Rovers site:

Paul Lambert is hoping to make further additions to his squad ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.
The Rovers boss has been busy during the January window having already signed four players and would like a couple more - ideally before Saturday's match at Oxford United.
With Fode Koita joining Markus Olsson in leaving for pastures new, Lambert wants to add more attacking options to his squad.
"There are areas of the pitch which we need to strengthen, we are trying to get a couple in," he said.
"We are trying to get the type of player that can make things happen. If we can get one or two in that forward area of the pitch then we'll be a good side.
"Hopefully we'll get a bit of luck and something will fall into our lap.
"In an ideal world I would love to get two in for Saturday's game, we are trying ever so hard to see if we can do things.
"But if it has got to be Monday then it has got to be Monday, we need to try and get a couple in."
