I agree with you about Lawrence. I reckon he will go back to Leicester and then when the Loan window opens in February he moves to another Championship club.

Bowyer was restricted to players who wages were under 10k. he took a chance Koita. just like he did with Gestede.

Bowyer should have got us promote last season with the squad we had.

BUT Lambert has come here to get this club promote and not be a mid table championship club.

From listening to the Lambert's BBC Radio Lancs it appears to me that he isn't atm looking to replace Olsson and will use Spurr there and use Henley as a back up. cos he wants to strength other areas of the team.

I'm hoping that Tony Watt is the pacey striker we have lacked all season and turns out to be a good signing. hoping its a loan deal with a view to a perm deal if he performs

Centre mid is more important than left back for me.

The new striker sounds like he's a bit of a handful on the training ground. He could do worse than punch some life into one or two of our lot.

Have hope that Twatt is better than that other Scottish wonderkid Badwillie.

Yeah, our recent history with Scottish players hasn't been the greatest has it ?

Why did we sign Simeon Jackson? So wasteful.

Because he looks relatively handy compared to most of our wasters.

Probably won't add much but probably on very little as well.

Maybe we didn't know Watt would be available. Anyway there's nothing wrong with having pressure for places. That's been an issue for too long at Rovers. Guys play like drains and still get picked for the next game. Jackson could be handy coming on for the last twenty minutes. If Lawrence goes back and Fode is off to Turkey that's two in and two out.

If we are looking for promotion then we need to build a team around a gritty midfield that can also create, one with a Tugay/Berko and a Flitcroft.

So from that point of view we actually need 2 central midfielders not one!

I guess we have to wait for this.

Our best 3 players are scottish.

Yeah you're probably right. Somehow I have in my head Rhodes is English and Conway is Welsh.

I think if we could get a good playmaker we could manage with what we already have from a defensive midfielder point of view.

Rhodes is as Scottish as a Yorkshire Pudding, but if you take the 'a' out of Conway, it definitely looks Welsh!

Apart from Watt, I'm still hoping we can bring in McGeady and Gibson.

If not, then one of Nolan or Scott Parker if available, wouldn't be bad on a short term deal. We desperately need a leader in the middle.

Nolan is player manager at Leyton Orient.

Parker is yesterday's man, Jordi Gomez is the man we should be looking at, for me.

Gestede had proven himself in his loan spell before we handed him the 3 and a half year deal.

What had Fode Koita done to warrant a 2 year contract?

If we were going to give him a chance, we should have handed him a year long deal with an option of a second year.

Thank goodness for Kasimpasa.

Gestede was on loan for a month before signing permanent. In his first games wasnt good but He was very good at Leeds away when he scored the header.

Jackson has been decent so far. Made an impact in games so far off the bench.

Watt was going to sign for Cardiff permanent until they got hit with a transfer embargo.

We need 4/5 strikers if we are looking to play 2 up front. Players being put under pressure for their places is good thing imo

Gomez would be our playmaker and would fit into our 4 man midfield we play

Big Sam has said he is free to leave Sunderland this month.

I also hope we sign Souttar on pre contract aswell

Oooh, never knew that about Nolan. Must have missed that.

Parker might be yesterdays man, but he is full of experience. We clearly lacking an experienced individual right now, to just take control of games. Either way, we, we need to find somebody who is strong enough to take hold of a game if we are struggling

Darren Gibson I'm not convinced about , it seems ages since I actually saw him play but he never struck me as box to box goalscoring or stick a foot in type player , More a bit of a stroller in midfield with excellent passing a bit like Tom Huddlestone, and I''m not sure this league is that forgiving of players like that , especially ones with injury history like his

You could be right. He's not exactly what I had in mind either. Could be the new Per Frandsen. Having said that he's better than what we've already got in that role.

I mentioned Parker a couple of weeks ago. A quality midfield dynamo in his day and out of contract in the summer. Don't know what his game is like now, think he's 34/35. Could certainly do with an experienced head i there. Might be worth a punt for a short term deal.

As much as I'd like us to sign Watt, he's already played for Cardiff and Charlton this season and unless the rules have suddenly changed I didn't think a player could play for more than 2 different clubs in a season. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
