He was always going this window. The lad wants out and hasn't been performing for months. I'm not sure how people have been able to deny that for so long. It's a shame but it's the right time, my arguement will remain the same, we need to improve the overall squad much more than we need to keep an unhappy player who has served us well but drifts in and out.

Money talks and there's no way we'll go back into the embargo if we sell Rhodes for 10m+. Throw some cash at them and see what happens.

A real shame , but he certainly hasn't looked a £9m player in recent weeks perhaps his hear just wasn't in it .....I just hope Lambert knows what he's doing And has 1 or 2 gems up his sleeve I remember The Geordies went mad when Keegan sold Andy Cole but the money he got made them title contenders lets up Lambert can do similar

Can't see it. There's no guarantee you would get a better price now than in the summer. Why take on the huge risk of selling him?

Despite the performances, the losses and the lacklustre signings I've backed Lambert because I believe he has a long term plan but selling Rhodes this late, in January, is suicidal. I thought he might go in the Summer when we could strengthen and buy a decent replacement. However we've now three scenarios that I can see.

1) we have someone lined up who is amazing.

2) we're taking a risk relying on our current strike force to keep us in the league.

3) we're going to panic buy on the last day and buy a donkey on inflated wages.

Edit: This is Blackburn Rovers 2016, so I'm not expecting number 1.

So we only owe Huddersfield 200K plus anything remaining from the transfer. 20% of the profit.
