From the Boro forum :

"Apparently Lambert is absolutely furious. 2 players had medicals today and they're now sat in a hotel cos they can't afford them"

Sounds unlikely.

Secret medicals with players who we can't afford? If they are under contract at other clubs and costing more than a couple of million each and their clubs have agreed terms already (again in secret) then we'd surely have heard something and we should be able to turn them both into loans with an agreed price.

Nah, not having it.

It's obvious from Lambert's statement he's lost his rag, but as for the second part - does this unnamed poster have a source that isn't twitter or facebook?

I'm expecting the Rhodes deal to happen.

guess that Rovers are talking to Rhodes's agent and Boro to get the deal done.

Hope Deadly has not been out celebrating the deal already and can be bothered to check a contract this time, otherwise we could end up paying Boro to take him and pay his wages for the next 5 years.:)

He can play centre midfielder or right back.

I see him more of a defensive midfielder/holding midfielder

Hmmm, I suppose it depends if he can pass a football then because we seem to have holding midfielders coming out of our ears. What we need is a midfielder who can pick a pass, carve open a defence and contribute to the goals tally themselves. We basically need a Dunny / Flitcroft combo in there.

Lambert has always said the summer is where the bigger moves will be, so I'd be surprised if any business tomorrow was hinging on Rhodes going. I think that would have been more to guarantee that he can plan ahead of time for the summer....wishful thinking perhaps but that's how I see it.

"If it's in the Mail then it must be true" but...

Given the comments from Lambert we must surely have a player or players lined up. I wouldn't be surprised if Rovers offer to restructure the deal to allow him to go. For all of the emotion from Gibson, Rhodes and Lambert, this will all come down to money.

It's funny how people think that, I have access to a stat page from press etc, and each paper is given stats of how accurate they are with certain clubs, and with rovers daily mail is top with around 44%.

Dont worry. The fax machine that won't work will come to our rescue.

if it's Vela and McGeady, then I assume they don't have a driving licence. It's hardly a massive mileage from Bolton or Liverpool that they need to spend a night in a hotel in Blackburn

We could still do with a a left back unless Henley is a suitable backup in this position? Marshall/Lowe for right back?

Either way Steve Gibson has caused mayhem for any initial plans.

Lowe seems to play better at right back than anywhere else. How long is he going to be out for ? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he get injured about this time last season.

If this collapse has torpedoed deals tomorrow Rhodes will not be getting anywhere near our side anytime soon.

Still think it might get done, especially if we have players lined up.

What's the alternative, pay him £40k a week to play in the reserves? Who does that benefit? If he isn't sold then I expect him to rotate along with Graham and Watt for the remainder of the season.

From keeping his value I agree but if Lambert doesn't rate him in our team then he won't play him.

He's been playing him up until recently, and his rating or not of Rhodes shouldn't be affected by what's happened with Boro.

It's possible he'll play Graham and Watt ahead of Rhodes for a while, but I very much doubt he'll be frozen out and still at the very least expect Rhodes to be coming on as a sub.

Tits like this guy (and his Twitter groupies) are what make me pray that Boro don't go up. Who on earth do they think they are?

On the rare occasion I meet a Boro fan and they act Charlie Big Boots I just ask what's in their trophy cabinet other than one league cup.
