Baz Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Nope...don't be fooled by Lamberts cautious exterior. It's all for show! He's got money to spend. £3 - £5m is absolutely no problems...wait and see! I hope you are right, because we certainly need to revamp this squad.

imy9 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Sounds like a problem for next year's FFP accounts! spread over 3 years so won't be an issue for at least 2 years now.
adsfortheblues Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Sounds like a problem for next year's FFP accounts! The losses allowance rises significantly for next season and will continue to do so as everyone knows it's a farce. Rovers will spend money and wisely and won't be back in an embargo. Look at Fulham's website that's basically what they've said about their embargo. As for the "Lambert is sheesh kebab" comments, let's calm down, I don't think it's any coincidence that the two players he's publicly talked about in terms of how they need to improve (Marshall and Rhodes) have been dross since he came in, I think he has ideas of getting rid of both and spending the money on more committed, consistent and better value for money players, he wanted to see what they were made of, and they've answered that. Rhodes we all love, well most of us, but for £8mill plus and with him earning circa £35-£40k per week he's a player Lambert may consider selling, he would replace wisely. Poor performances of late are a good thing in the long run, he knows who he needs to get rid of and will already have had targets in mind before he agreed to become Rovers manager.
47er Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 According to Alan Nixon Lambert and Rovers have Four live issues at Rovers Names will be in Sun on Sunday I still won't be buying it! So be kind and let us know! Transfer Centre Live @TransferCentreL 59m59 minutes ago Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Norwich City striker Lewis Grabban. Seems like Norwich fans are interested in selling him!
Ribble Rover Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 An improvement on what we have. Could be a good foil for JR.
neophox Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Lewis Grabban looks like a loan. But may be that Rhodes may go to Norwich.
neophox Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Lichaj as right back Kacaniklic at left wing Lansbury in central midfeld Grabban Steele Lichaj, Hanley, Duffy, Olsson Conway, Lansbury, Evans, Kacaniklic Grabban, Rhodes Lansbury is a leader and creative player
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 An improvement on what we have. Could be a good foil for JR. If he can be bothered that is. We desperately need self starters, not guys who need their ego's massaged every game. I realise these players are becoming as rare as hen's teeth these days.
Neal Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I think I may well have been the first to mention Grabban... Even before Chads! Would be happy with that one, could see it being a loan view to sign deal though.
chaddyrovers Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I think I may well have been the first to mention Grabban... Even before Chads! Would be happy with that one, could see it being a loan view to sign deal though. Yes you were Neal but deffo a good player and would be hit here for sure
jim mk2 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 So Lambert's contacts book extends only as far as one of his former clubs - not a good sign.
martonrover Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 So Lambert's contacts book extends only as far as one of his former clubs - not a good sign.Unlikely to be the case but even if it were at least it's a Premier League Club and not somewhere in the French Third Division.Happy New Year everyone.
Mani Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 So Lambert's contacts book extends only as far as one of his former clubs - not a good sign.Haha give him a break!! It's a quick fix he needs in terms of the January window. Of course he's gonna go back to former clubs and to what / who he knows!! Lichaj as right back Kacaniklic at left wing Lansbury in central midfeld Grabban Steele Lichaj, Hanley, Duffy, Olsson Conway, Lansbury, Evans, Kacaniklic Grabban, Rhodes Lansbury is a leader and creative player These just your thoughts or have you got some info? Hope you have mate. I'd be well happy with those!!
rigger Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 So Lambert's contacts book extends only as far as one of his former clubs - not a good sign.Does it matter the extent of his contacts, as long as any signings he may make are good for the Rovers.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 If he can be bothered that is. We desperately need self starters, not guys who need their ego's massaged every game. I realise these players are becoming as rare as hen's teeth these days.To be fair, if Grabban came from Bournemouth then the lad must have a decent work ethic, especially as they tried to buy him back.
Ricky Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 If we're looking at left field signings how about John Bostock. Youngest player to ever play for Palace and Spurs and still only 23 now. He's out of contract in the summer and playing in Belgium. He obviously had something in his locker as I know he was wanted by everyone when he went to Spurs.
ABBEY Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 So Lambert's contacts book extends only as far as one of his former clubs - not a good sign.Pathetic
Stuart Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 So Lambert's contacts book extends only as far as one of his former clubs - not a good sign.Lol. Better than a list of club development officers and going for a pint in the last chance saloon. It's clear the knives are out for Lambert from some quarters. I can only assume these folks would be happier to see another novice brought in who will spend the first two years learning how to be a manager. The real reason, of course, is that people who backed Bowyer are desperate to say "I told you so". What a shame they can't back an experienced, proven, successful manager for the good of the club. Bowyer was given a massive chance at Rovers - a gig he would never have got at any other club. The experiment failed and we now need to move forward under a tried and trusted method of bringing in the best available manager and allowing him to work with the squad.
Doug Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Really looking forward to this transfer window, as IMO PL and his team will have better pulling power and hopefully a modest amount of money to spend. I'm sure he will have identified the weaker players and hope he manages to ship them out.
Amo Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 So Lambert's contacts book extends only as far as one of his former clubs - not a good sign. That hasn't worked out very well for us in the past...

I hadn't really thought about it but the fact Forest have just had their embargo extended might mean they will be looking to sell. Always rated Chris Burke as a decent winger in the Championship.
chaddyrovers Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Lambert on Rhodes and what he is targeting transfer wise to create more chance for him http://m.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/14176796.We_need_brains_and_brawn_to_help_Jordan_Rhodes__says_Blackburn_Rovers_boss/

The experiment failed and we now need to move forward under a tried and trusted method of bringing in the best available manager and allowing him to work with the squad. I agree that we have to give Lambert more time (far more time) - but I think he has been a victim of his early success at Rover's - which unfortunately raised expectations far too high. Having said that - irrespective of his reputation or experience it doesn't mean he should be exempt from any criticism. This transfer window will tell us a lot - we have to start looking better as a team after he has made a few additions to better suit his style of play. I am not one to push to chop and change managers - but I am sure that the Venky's didn't bring in PL and Irvine (presumably fairly expensive wage wise) to not improve our situation fairly quickly.
Amo Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Lansbury would be a great little signing. I've always been a fan of his.
