allanncd Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Well it should not be a boring deadline day for us. I'm sure Rhodes will be off I just can't see any other way. There must be others lined up if it goes through but it is getting dark outside.. More likely to take emergency loans when that window opens and the January dust has settled .

Iceman Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Surely Rhodes must have a cut off point, either sign by 5 or your staying.Like I said, this is not going to end well for us. This is going to go to the last minute. Surely Rovers should have told Boro, you need to complete this by a certain time, or we pull the plug.
chor808 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 More likely to take emergency loans when that window opens and the January dust has settled . You could be right.
sambo Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Just getting home...this could get exciting Give us a clue, I'm into my last hour at work and need a pick me up!
AdamRochina Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Yeah we need a couple of players in ..If he doesn't get his players now , he will have to work his magic in emergency loan window
Iceman Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Yeah we need a couple of players in ..If he doesn't get his players now , he will have to work his magic in emergency loan windowOur chance for getting a few decent loans in, is this window. That emergency loan window should not be touched, because it's such a poor time.
AdamRochina Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I agree iceman. ,bit peeved we are awaiting the Rhodes deal to be concluded
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 More likely to take emergency loans when that window opens and the January dust has settled . My money is on that outcome. Boro came in a week too late.
Mani Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Give us a clue, I'm into my last hour at work and need a pick me up! Haha wish I had summat pal. Gotta be eventful though...either way!!
chaddyrovers Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Looking like loan signings tonight as we dont get the Rhodes Money until the summer
roverandout Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 At least Cardiff have taken Lawrence off our hands
koi Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Just getting home...this could get exciting You on a promise
Mercer Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Just been told Zac Clough favourite to sign for Rovers on Sky Bet. Think it's a long standing interest. Posted on this thread back on 7 Jan that a friend of mine, fairly close to stuff at Bolton, had said Rovers were in for him. If correct, need to move smartly as understand also on Everton's 'wish list'.
BlueMonday Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Clough would be a good signing, would be happy with that.
pick32 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 We need a couple players who can walk straight into the first 11, we have swapped Lawrence and Rhodes for Graham and Watt is going to be a long second half of the season indeed.
roverandout Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 We haven't really improved the team at all this window, just journeymen, has been and players who have not lived up to the hype, I was expecting more imagination from lambert, some of his signings have been on a level with bowyers, this summer had better be a HUGE improvement in terms of incomings!!
Pedro Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I agree iceman. ,bit peeved we are awaiting the Rhodes deal to be concludedYou'd be more peeved if we spent money and ended up under an embargo if he doesn't move on.

It won't be if he has no cash though, how can it ? The Tony Watt deal could be a good one if Lambert can get the best out of him. Potential for him to increase in value quite a bit if he becomes a regular scorer. Or it could go down the Ben Marshall route........
perthblue02 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Looking like its going to be a busy night at Ewood, reports from Aldi at Ewood that Alan Myers just been in and bought 16 egg and cheese sandwiches , 24 case of Red Bull, family bag of toffee flavoured popcorn , fax machine and a bottle of tippex
Amo Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Have a sinking feeling we're not going to sign anyone tonight. The Rhodes deal will have left it too late for us, and we'll have to go with what we've got until the summer (if Balaji hasn't spent it on some new bling).

The Rhodes deal will have left it too late for us, and we'll have to go with what we've got until the summer (if Balaji hasn't spent it on some new bling). I personally think that Lambert has something ready, just waiting to get Rhodes out the door first.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I just don't want us to have to be reliant on Watt/Graham for the goals to keep us up. As I've said all along, it is such a big risk. It could be just about swallowed if we sign a midfielder who could pretty much guarantee 8+ goals per season (Dorrans for example) but no new striker AND no goal scoring midfielder and we could be in big trouble. IMO of course.
Reedy You're A Star Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 If the Rhodes deal goes through late and we re-negotiate the deals lined up to be loans in the emergency window, til Summer, then they get the agreed fee, what would be the difference between us signing those players on perms now, for the same fee? None that I can see. No need for a meltdown til we know more.
