Not seen him play for Sunderland but I've always rated him from his time at Wigan. Can look up, pick a pass and has a pile driver of a shot on him. Will chip in with goals from midfield. Not the quickest and not defensive minded but still way better than our current CM's

Sunderland fans not overly happy he's going without an incoming. They'd much prefer to sell Rodwell by the looks.

Gomez and Akpan would definitely see us through until the summer.
