Well I mean, surely the whole circus around Rhodes could not have gone ahead unless Lambert was certain we would invest the money into another player before the window ends?

Surely that is the case?

Really? You're a glass half empty man then?

Afraid so on this one, I have been Lambert's biggest supporter on here but I'm afraid he's dropped the ball on this one

Time will tell roverandout. We'll see how the new players and the remaining ones fit into the plans. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing how it pans out. We were going absolutely nowhere as things stood.

Can't see how any of this is really a surprise. It was even talked about before Lambert joined that he might not fancy Rhodes and cash in on him

Ive been saying for ages that Rhodes doesnt suit Lambert's tactics/Style of play.

If we sign Jordi Gomez I'll be made up. Class player that fella, particularly at this level, exactly the sort of player we needed. Would have been nice to bring in someone like Aluko but at this hour Gomez will do nicely.

Decent transfer windows for me considering this is not going to be our 'big one'...

INS:

Ward - looks good and ultimately needed him

Jackson - speedster we've not had in a while

Gomez - skilful midfielder much needed

Watt - looks promising

Graham - could come good in this division still decent age

Bennett -looks terrible so far

5/6 is not bad

OUTS:

Rhodes £9-13m for a guy who doesn't fit our system and has some deficiencies is good for us

Olsson - £1m for guy with 6 months remaining is spot on

Deadwood - petchi / koita / Lawrence

Pretty decent cetain we will get a few loans in the next few days too

Fully agree. Footballs a great game that we all have different opinions on but we now have a top management team whose job is to re build the club. Their new style cannot be done overnight so if we can survive this season 2016-17 could be very different.
