Maybe a Jon Stead type move is required?

Make an offer for Bradshaw at Walsall and/or Bradley Dack at Burton. The goals are the same size.

Add a PL loanee with a strong character who will carry some gravitas.

At what point in this poor run of form will Kilgallon get a run out I wonder...

From Paul Wheelock

Doneil Henry on way back to West Ham United. Leicester City happy for Tom Lawrence to stay for rest of the season. #rovers

So thats Lawrence staying here

Good news, Lawrence is one of the few players we have who can make something happen. Priorities have to be right back, centre midfield and at least one if not two strikers. Get rid of Williamson, Koita, Brown, Delfouneso and Guthrie as soon as is realistically possible. Not that there's going to be much of a queue for any of them.

If we can get good money for Marshall which could be reinvested in the team I'd take that without hesitation too.

Well done, blueboy3333. You've actually succeeded in uniting Abbey & TJ against you. That takes some doing!

haha. I'm not really against anybody though, i accept his view I'm just sick of reading it on every page over and over and some of the stuff he's trying to beat PL with is just pathetic(particularly in a transfer news thread)

Two new strikers would be the quickest way to improving the team. if we can't get any possession at the top end of the park, we aren't going to win games. Again today, we had no threat up front. Yes, the midfields weak, and new bodies are welcome there, but without changing things up top we would still continually be pinned in our own half.

Can we steer clear of Doneil Henry now please. Not a bad player but a modern day Darren Anderton.

real shame about Andertons career, i thought he was pretty immense before his injuries started

Think he's been banned anyway.

I see, shame it had to come to that, his none PL related views elsewhere on the forum are usually decent.

We do need reinforcements up top, but it won't do much good with poor players like Williamson, Guthrie, Delfouneso, Marshall and Akpan behind the front one/two. The entire attacking section of the team, including midfield, needs an overhaul. Defensively we're alright, right back excluded, but we are so bad going forward right now. No goals from a Rovers player in 5 games is appalling, and the worst part is we're not even creating good chances. It isn't bad luck, it's just bad players.

Blueboy reminds me a lot of Braddock. Posts plenty of decent points but does it in a way that winds people up. You always run the risk of a ban if you're irritating a significant portion of the posters.

Anywho, hopefully Lambert's on the phone trying to get a few players in and a few players out.

I agree with most of what you say D.E.

We need to get some possession upfront though. If a team can't do that they'll get beat.

We need possession up front, but any striker needs players near him, it's no wonder any of our strikers find it hard keeping hold of the ball with so few players in support.

Aren't Guthrie, Koita and Akpan all on two year deals? Despite the fact that we'll have a few of the wasters off our books come the summer (Browny, Williamson, Delfy) there will still be a number who will likely get another fat Venkys cheque.

I would question why we were giving two year contracts to players that weren't wanted by other clubs. Surely offer them a year and add an extension clause in there based on number of games played, or something similar. If they reject that it's hardly a massive loss considering the calibre of player.

I agree den, the ball does seem to ping back to us too often. Unfortunately there seems to be a massive disconnect between our front line and the midfield. It's been there for a while but in the last five games it seems to be worse than ever. A couple of decent central midfielders and at least one striker who can play with his back to goal would improve us no end.
