islander200 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Really need someone in the middle of the park who can put their foot on the ball and pick a pass.Don't want us going anywhere near Kevin Nolan, decent player but his career is coming to an end I'd rather see a younger hungry player who is striving to play in the premier league rather than someone looking for a final pay day
booth Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 We are lacking experience though. Not all older players are just in it for the money.

I agree but Nolan left west ham a while ago he won't be match fit and would take him a while to get up to speed....with our finances limited Nolan isn't for me
Pedro Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I agree but Nolan left west ham a while ago he won't be match fit and would take him a while to get up to speed....with our finances limited Nolan isn't for me I know what you are saying but that lad has scored a hell of a lot of goals (in Big Sam style football) and has promotions behind him. I'd rather be paying someone like him 10k a week to play and advise than a host of our current crop.
chaddyrovers Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Wildschut is diff class. Seen quite a lot of him. what type of winger is he? Gnabry or McMannaman would both be cracking loan signings. Pace at the bucket-load. we have mention Gnabry him a lot recently. surely we should have an interest in him
Mani Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 what type of winger is he? we have mention Gnabry him a lot recently. surely we should have an interest in him Absolutely rapid Chaddy. Very direct also...Iv seen him twice live and been really impressed. I'd definitely load him into any deal for Rhodes if they decided to sell. I know a couple of lads at Wigan as well and they're mad on him!!

Thanks Mani Daily Mail saying we have made an enquiry for Cardiff winger Anthony Pilkington and Wigan striker Grant Holt http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3383834/Manchester-United-Chelsea-keen-frustrated-PSG-defender-Marquinhos-Tottenham-cool-Ezequiel-Lavezzi.html
jim mk2 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 The Daily Mail is just click-bait but the Pilkington and Holt rumours keep resurfacing, which is very worrying.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 4, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted January 4, 2016 Would have absolutely no issue with Pilkington, Holt though....
T J Hooker Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 James Vaughan.. Just finished his loan spell at brum?? good all round centre forward(when fit)
SoldierMo Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Sheffield wednesday just had a bid rejected for Alan Judge
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Sheffield wednesday just had a bid rejected for Alan Judge I heard Burnley were interested in Judge also. I went to that Unicef match a month or so ago and Dwight Yorke was twice the player we currently have. I'm not suggesting getting him out of retirement but his skill and composure was still there - if I'm honest I'm waiting a for a pizza to cook. That means he must be twice the player he was when he actually played for us.
AJW Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 What was the deal when Judge left? Did we put a sell on clause in ?
G Somerset Rover Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 If we didn't then we'd have been mad, but this is our club we're talking about. Was a player who could come back and bite us on the arse, and looks like it's going that way!
AdamRochina Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Hope there's an 11 o clocked lol people on face book getting restless we haven't signed anyone
Mani Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Would have absolutely no issue with Pilkington, Holt though.... Whether we like it or not Holt is an upgrade on what we have. Pilkington would be a great signing.
Butty Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Rhodes to join Boro been backed in from 5/1 to as small as 5/4. Think the reality is if they were to make another bid similar to the one reported in the summer he'll be off. Pilkington from Cardiff would be a class signing, hope we don't go for Grant Holt or Danny Graham though.

The sad situation is, until the owners are allowed to spend their money without us going back into an embargo, it's the only way we can make the changes to the squad that we desperately need. Idiotic rules that keep smaller clubs (revenue generating) small and big clubs big - whilst giving them the best shot at the best players and ultimately the best chance of promotion to the big league. If these rules were in place when Jack bought us, he'd have his hands tied too.
oldjamfan1 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Whether we like it or not Holt is an upgrade on what we have. Pilkington would be a great signing. Pilky is on pretty good money at Cardiff. Whether we could or should match it is debatable.
onlyonejackwalker Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Pilky is on pretty good money at Cardiff. Whether we could or should match it is debatable. I think everyone is on good money at Cardiff. I read yesterday that Kenwyn Jones is on 33k per week. Lambert isn't going to recruit Holt unless he can still play.
Mike Graham Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Why would Rhodes not go to Boro? Bigger club, destined for the Premier League, better players and plenty of supply for him to score, decent owner, sign-on fee etc etc etc. If the money is right Venky's will sell. If not the right money in Venky's eyes I would not blame JR for forcing the issue. No brainer.
Ribble Rover Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Why would Rhodes not go to Boro. cos he's on a right screw here for his limited talent. He might get found out if he moves
