From Nixon on Twitter;

Middlesbrough. Obviously watching Danny Graham move to Blackburn with some interest ... Rovers won't pay big wages to BOTH him and Rhodes.

Ha ha try telling the venkys they wont pay both wages, not really stubborn are they, Anyway will Danny Graham not be our street fighter for Jordan.

Is Bennett left or right sided? Sounds like this one is more likely than most that have been mentioned.

Also, I just can't see us selling Rhodes with Graham as the replacement. People seem to think this is the case because Graham is on big wages at Sunderland, but that doesn't add up to me. Why sell a striker who scores goals (albeit going through a rough patch lately) and bring in a striker who hasn't scored goals consistently for a few years now? If anything we need to offload a couple of the donkey backup strikers and bring in more capable strikers to play alongside JR. I would be ok with Graham up top with Rhodes but not to replace him.

He's out of chances at Sunderland and they seem content to let him leave. Maybe they want us to just pay a slice of his wage until his contract expires to free up a space for them. The biggest problem with Rhodes is what he offers other than scoring loads of goals. The problem with Graham these last few years has been what he does because he hasn't scored goals. They are polar opposites. My hope is he's being brought in to help Rhodes. Attempting to replace Rhodes with someone like Graham would be extremely risky and potentially fatal in a side already woefully short on goals. Not to mention that he's 31 this year and won't have many years left in the tank, unlike Rhodes.

The main positive I can find with Graham is that his record at Championship clubs is half decent. I'm looking at his goals for Watford over 2 seasons where he scored every other game and then he scored a few whilst on loan at Middlesbrough. His performance in terms of goals in the Premier League at Swansea and Sunderland has been notoriously abysmal, but it might just be that the Championship is his level and given an opportunity he might rediscover his scoring ability.

I'd certainly have more faith in Graham than in Brown or Delfouneso, and would have confidence he would be an improvement. People like Graham and Bennett know this league well. Better going with those than League One people or kids.

Best case scenario is that Graham like Daryl Murphy (also formerly of Sunderland) finds his goal scoring in his later years. Suppose looking at Murphy as an example he could be worth taking a chance on at least. If there's little risk for us then there's everything to gain in case he starts banging them in.

I know we have a few cracks to paper over, but surely he's not thinking of a forward line of Graham & Brown?

Atleast we'd have someone who can hold the ball up and not score goals, we'd fly up the league then! Woo

I have to admit I am happy with the Elliott Bennett signing. He is a Championship player for sure and has EPL experience which will be useful. The fact that he is out of contract in the summer is also a positive as we have nothing to lose on this loan signing. If he does well we snap him up for nothing. Danny Graham is once again another signing I am happy for. He can do the dirty work, and has a decent goal scoring record at this level. Fundementally the main question is, are they two signings that will improve the squad? In my eyes it is a big yes! We just need to sign a creative midfielder and I will be happy. Then we have to try and offload a few.

Need to say goodbye to:

Brown, Eastwood, Williamson, Delfouneso, Taylor, and loan off Petschi. Then I would be happy with the balance of the squad.

Have

---------Steele-------

Henley/Lowe--Hanley--Duffy--Olsson

Marshall/Bennett--Evans--Lawrence/Marshall--Conway

--------Graham-----Rhodes----

To be honest to me that looks like a strong line up that would give most Championship teams a problem or two.

Still nothing on the bench there and does little to address the lack of creativity in the middle or pace in the side. From the limited amount I have seen of Delfouneso, I would be getting rid of Koita and Brown before him.

Elliot Bennett well well lol few in here said we could go for him...has played right back and centre midfield this season for Bristol also he's natural wide right position

And abbey I am being patient ...hence my post saying people of Facebook not me ..read next time yeah

Patient? You? Your reactions during games if we haven't scored in 5 minutes are hilarious, and the way you write us off straight after conceding.

I would throw in a new Central Midfielder to go alongside Evans or Akpan...preferably Evans. We need a midfielder with a bit of drive to get forward and support the front 2 if we are to play 442.

Andy Cryer on Twitter.

Can't blame Bennett if opts for Blackburn - at least they pay- wasn't great for us but at least he was a player. Seems like we've given up.

When Andy Cryer asked if Elliott is quick - he replied 'not that quick - workmanlike'.

Doesn't sound a signing that will tear up any trees. Taylor mark 2.
