Am i the only one who thinks that bringin 2 new wingers in Bennet and Pilkington is pointless when what we need is 2 midfielders ,RB and a striker

Instead ofsigning new wingers we should have tried to bring Marshall's form from the begining of the last season

Not if they are an improvement on what we have, come back and moan when the window has closed and we have not signed anyone for MF.

Bennett may have been quick but a cruciate injury will take a yard of pace off you. Hopefully that will still leave him quicker than 99% of our lads. Does sound like he has got a good engine though and will be used to the pressuring style of Lambert.

Not a signing to get you out of your chair but may be useful.

interesting that Pilkington is full of praise for Bennett on twitter. clearly close mates, next one on the list?

Hopefully but I can't see it happening.

Alot of talk about Graham coming in. The Sunderland echo have credited us with an interest, with Sunderland willing to let him go to free up funds.

Wages might be an issue by the sounds of it.

Quite like the look of Bennett. Looks like he's not shot shy either.

Think we'll do very well to get pilkington. But with 18 months left on his contract maybe a summer move could happen.

Compare this Bristol City thread about Bennett to Cryer's comments.

They are very bitter to their club but I can only find one person who thinks losing him isn't a blow.

all those comments in there dissining blackburn hahaha and from a bunch of south west mard arses that have probably never really visited anywhere north of the m4

Cryer does come over as someone bitter about why a big city club like Bristol City have never done anything, and always seemed to think Rovers fans should be greatful even during the Kean era. Even making out Elliott signing for Rovers because they pay.

Andy is an exceptionally good reporter but he literally cannot bring himself to give Rovers any credit for anything...bitter just doesn't cover it!!

Not saying Bennett will be any good. But sadly you cannot take the words of Andy Cryer!!

This is just the beginning guys...buckle up!!

Ok Mani - I'll bite :glare: you heard of any more comings and goings ? Depending on where Bennett is to be played I wonder if Marshall could be on his way - personally hope not.

I expecting a lot of transfer in and out movement this January By Rovers and Lambert

Like this signing. High hopes for Lamberts Rovers, even if its without Rhodes, which I couldn't have brought myself to say 12 months ago.

We have appointed a manager who is proven at this level and Knows what it takes to get out of this league and he has come here to get this club back to the Premier League and NOT to be a manager of a mid table Championship team. So we need to back his judgement and the style of play he wants. whether this is with Rhodes or not.

I want Premier League football back at Ewood Park within the next 18 months

Mani, I have to say my friend that you are a better judge of a footballer than you are of a journalist.......

Funnily enough I think wages might also be an issue with Pilkington

Holt coming in as Browns successor.

Holt is a leader and was Lamberts captain. Even at 35 could be useful.

Pilkington has showed om Twitter where his minds are...

Jackson doing his all to get a contract.

Grabban to happen only IF Rhodes leave.

Not to sure about Graham.

Could see some outgoings too. Believe Rovers looking at a left back.

I wouldn't complained if Holt came in for Brown. as he cant be any worse tbh

Pilkington would be good for us and he was full of praise of his mate joining Rovers.

I hope we don't sign Simeon Jackson tbf. He has just left Barnsley after a short term contract there

Grabban would be good replacement for Rhodes if sold tho I wouldn't be surprise if Lambert went for Bradshaw or Washington

Graham is a target man striker we need

I'm not sure we need a left as I would MUCH prefer a creative centre midfielder in

The way he dealt with that Scotch drunk and his program writing mate left a lot to be desired, they had Cryer wrapped around their fingers, his conduct for a local reporter was a disgrace throughout the entire debacle in my opinion.

Cryer took a bit of stick for that, I once saw him torn a new one by an irate Rovers fan. He seemed to treat the situation as a bit of a joke on the few occasions I saw him. Felt a bit sorry for him when he took that public rollicking though.

That's what happens though when the local rag employ outsiders. Especially an outsider from hundreds of miles away who supports a team who think they are big and are were envious of a club like Rovers. There are dozens up and down the leagues who just assume they are bigger than us and begrudge our 90's success instead of being pleased for a so called smaller club.

Sorry mate, I honestly wasn't angling for the question. I'm not sure. But I have said all along that I thought there'd be money to spend and that we wouldn't be limited to loans.

Sorry to disappoint

Haha I'm certainly not a Cryer lover but come on. He did a good job. He actually had the inside track...also, I don't think he was wrapped around their fingers when he wrote the 'Time to go' article..?

Haha fair enough pal. Life would be dull without differing opinions hey?

I think this is just going to be a one off in this instance given his contractual situation. I honestly think we won't be spending anymore cash.

Wasn't it already long past time to go by then?

It's easy to have the inside track when you're lodged in the intestinal tract.
