Josh Windass has signed for Rangers. Apparently a number of championship clubs have expressed an interest in Aiden Mcgeady, just hope we're one of them! Bet you THAT LOT are certainly in there.

Strange one that. On the assumption that Rangers will be back in the top flight next season I thought they would be aiming at better targets than Josh Windass. Time will tell I suppose.

I agree there mate, seen him a few times and lacks a bit in a few departments. Maybe his surname has a benefit

Moussa Dembele at Fulham worth a try?

His is only 19, and out of contract in the summer. Time for embargo Fulham to cash something in?

Theyll be back out of the embargo come summer, no problem. They even stated that on their own website. Acceptable losses criteria rises by a large amount, probably see the stupid rule fizzle out.

Libor Kozak would be nice to loan but wonder if Villa would let him go now they are in big trouble.

From newspaper reports yesterday, Villa are preparing for the Championship and looking for experience Championship players who are out of contract this summer.

Just a sugg...

But we have a real prospect in 18 year old Lewis Mansell.

If not try him this season then loan him out to a League 1 or 2 side. He's a tall striker with eye for goal and a bright prospect.

I also think Ryan Nyambe is progressing. So now theres competition at right back.

I would give Mahoney, Mansell, Tomlinson and Nyambe a runout on saturday.

Sorry mate, wasn't being rude. Just the likes of Wickham and Dembele are dream talk for us despite being out of the embargo.

Agreed about the youngsters. I wouldn't want Lambert to change too much as we need the win but it would be good to see two of them perhaps, blooded on Saturday. They surely can't perform much worse than the 'seniors' have of late.

I heard a Stanley spokesman on a podcast talking about Windass going to Rangers. He spoke very highly of him, remarking on him bouncing back from rejection at Huddersfield and labouring on a building site. He reckoned he has a habit of drifting out of games but popping up with match winning passes and goals. The Stanley man was more effusive about the other Reds player heading for Ibrox. Matt Crooks is another rejected by Huddersfield and had an inauspicious start as a centre forward at the Crown Ground. John Coleman converted him to a holding midfielder and, apparently he is outstanding there. He's 6'4" and is said to break up opposition attacks and drive Stanley forward. Like Windass Crooks is 21 and it sounds like we might of missed out on a good prospect in him if not both.

I know that the Stanley chairman is fuming about them both heading to Rangers, do Scottish clubs pay a lesser compensation package for out of contract young players or something? I remember the knuckle draggers down the road being petrified of Ings going to Spain as they would get less compo but I'm unsure if other countries FA set the rules regarding amounts to be paid to the aggrieved clubs?

I know the guy who's put a bit of cash behind Stanley is not happy with Rangers but they don't appear to have done anything wrong. Both players are out of contract in the summer and are entitled to speak to non English clubs. Rangers notified Stanley of their intention to speak to both. I suppose the non English rule is what has allowed Rangers to steal a march on clubs south of the border. Stanley will get a development fee I think but there were rumours of Arsenal being in for Windass for a fee up to a million with add ons. Rangers won't have to pay anything like that which is a real shame for Stanley, also a shame for the likes of Rovers if both lads turn out out to be good 'uns.

I do feel like we may have missed an opportunity with Josh Windass, he has been decent at Stanley not just this year but last year as well, and has developed pretty well. I would have liked to have seen us sign him and then loan him out somewhere. I would like to see Lewis Mansell get some game time somewhere in League Two or even conference, and have someone snap up Mahoney on Loan as well. These two players need to get some minutes under their belt to carry on with their development.

I'm pretty sure I read an article that they had renewed it. Destined for the PL and playing in London, no chance.

The LT article regarding potential incoming strikers is an interesting one. If we were to offload Chris Brown and one of Koita or Delfouneso and bring in Graham and someone like Matt Smith then it'd be ok business I'd say, not the kind of signings that get the pulse racing but an improvement on the current crop.

I know nothing about Libor Kozak other than he had a bad injury and has never really recovered during his time at Villa.

Maybe Graham but it doesn't look an impressive bunch at all !

Whens donkey Kiota moving on ?

I'm with you on this Jal. None of these fill me with optimism. Maybe as an extra one on loan as well as Grabban?

Gary Gardner is available from Villa at around £1.5m. PL knows him.

Like that. Fits the bill and completely different to what we have.

No harm done.

Mansell has potential.

Nyambe has pace.

Mahoney not in squad for Arsenal game could mean he will play some part on saturday.

One player PL must work hard with is Danny Guthrie. The player seems out of sorts and could be vital for us in midfeld. He has Premier League games under his belt and season 2009-2010 when Newcastle where in the championship he was one of the best midfelders in the league.

You had me until you said Matt Smith! He's pants, no better than our current crop. Besides Chris Brown obviously.
