No disrespect but that type of confidence could only come from someone who hasn't seen that much of us recently.

We are dire at the moment and the only difference between us and the bottom three is those precious seven points.

Losing to Bolton gives you a clue.

We desperately need more signings in my opinion.

Excuse me? If you bring in quality then yes, but if you going to sign just for the sake of signing players, then whats the point? How many players are we releasing, to balance out any incoming players? Do we keep the crap sitting on the sidelines not playing and paying them?

We have been burnt before, because we thought signing players is going to boost the squad. It didn't. Forget who the managers were at the time, we needed players then and we completely messed it up to a point where we couldn't sign anybody for a fee.

There is a reason why alot of teams don't sign players in January. It's a stupid time to get in players IF they can't hit the ground running.

Yes the squad needs improvement, but I'm not sure we have a realistic chance of a playoff place. If it's not realistic chance, then bring in players who will give you an opportunity to stay up. Next season we start proper and we fight again.

Oh dear. I just wanted to share my opinion on what I believe to be poor behaviour on your part. Recently you have contributed more than just shouting and screaming Venky's out at every opportunity and I've actually enjoyed some of your posts. I know ill just get some other negative reply but I just think you let yourself down with the constant sniping at particular people. For example Adam obviously winds you up, particularly his use of lol but you can't help replying at every given opportunity.

Anyway, that's all completely off topic. I'm looking forward to seeing Bennett tomorrow and hoping we can get a few new faces on soon.

Not sure why you were reported. It is nonsense but unfortunately sometimes I can't help but reply when I think something is wrong. I really should just stick to lurking.

Like I said what's it got to with you.

What gets on my nerves about him is the fact he threatened me .

Danny Graham, Jackson, and Bennett are probably all better than what we have at the moment - hardly exciting signings though.

I will be happier with exciting results on the pitch, rather than exciting signings. Lets see what happens before becoming abject about them.

I wouldn't want to go there until his court case is sorted, on the pitch he would be a good addition but his off the pitch antics make him a big no for me

He's under a bit of a cloud at the moment, granted. He would have been OK here, the demise of Blackburn's nighttime economy has lead to a dearth of Elvis impersonators locally.

"Coventry City flop" but good enough for us. I just cannot see how signings like this are going to strengthen our very weak starting XI.

Now now Jim, give the guy a chance. There are people on here who believe anybody brought in thats slightly better than the current lot are deserving of that contract. ;)

Like alot of managers, they initially go back to the people they know and trust first and foremost. Lambert has done just that with Bennett and Jackson.

Both uninspiring signings but they know how Lambert wants the team to play.

Jackson is only a short term deal, a filler till the summer if you like, i don't really have an issue with this. Staying in the league has got to be the aim and then the full rebuild starts in the summer.

Breath...football is all about opinions. In any case I cannot believe that Bennett or Jackson are players brought in to make the difference...they're just players who PL trusts as he starts the rebuilding. Signalling the end for a few..

Wait, you are not allowed to mention just staying in this league mate. And rebuilding in the summer, with better preparations. We have to sign players NOW or that's it.

As soon as Bowyer got the job he went out and got people he knew - Alan Judge and Alex Marrow. At the time nobody was excited about either. Those signings were low risk because Bowyer knew them from previous experience, knew their strengths and attitudes, and neither were on big money.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing because one of those has gone on to be very successful at Brentford, but whilst he was here contributed very little and was behind the likes of Cairney and Marshall in the team.

Now Lambert has arrived it looks like his first act is to do the same with Bennett and Jackson. Not exactly exciting signings but known to the manager. I don't mind a patchwork approach until the end of the season to see us over the line until the real rebuilding begins in the summer, so long as the likes of Jackson are not the 'big hitters' that Lambert referred to and are rather just cheap, low risk bodies to provide much needed options until the end of the season.

It's actually ridiculous, that we have to sign a few players to keep this squad up. This bunch of players should be alot better than probably 8 other teams right now in this league . If I was any of these players, I would be ashamed at myself to be called a professional footballer.

Has Simeon Jackson signed? He isn't a bad player, but more of a squad filler and league one striker. Lambert might get the best out of him again.

He'll fit right in here then with Brown and Koita! ;)

I do wonder whether Lambert thinks getting in players who know his style of play and philosophy to football will help better impose his style of football on the squad as a whole. So even if they only end up being squad players - it will help on the training ground. This signing also brings in much needed numbers up front with Fonz out for two months, Koita always injured and Brown ....................

Lambert's first two signings suggest to me that he has major issues with a big part of the squad. I think there is something seriously amiss with a big part of the squad and they are missing, IMV, their great chums Bowyer and co.

Lambert has to stop the rot and, sadly, I think the rebuilding process is going to take longer than we feared.

If these two new players offer any improvement on what we've recently seen, and that shouldn't be difficult, then it will be a big stride forward.

I have little doubt that we are going to see a massive cull of the existing playing staff over the next six months and it will not be before time.

Some of them may be better than they are showing but for me the mentality is all wrong. Been wrong for a long time too.
