So just ignore the past .. Just a small question .. We are out of the embargo ... Who put us there in the first place ?

True but steps are being taken towards sorting the sorry mess out. If the walkers (not jack) were still in charge we would be in this state now, we were always 1 @#/? managerial appointment from disaster. The incompetence of the early venkys tenure just sped it up! I hold a whole lot more hatred for a certain slimy t₩@t of an agent, who shall not be named but whose son may or not have received a contract at rovers than I do to the venkys.

Have had a tough time recently so footy has taken a back seat. From reading the posts of those there, the new manager affect has clearly worn off far too quickly. The players have to step up. 13 points off the PO's, over half the season gone, pie in the sky that it will happen this year.

The Loons need to dig deep into their collective pockets. We desperately need new blood, a do or die mid-fielder, a target man to play alongside JR, right back, give Kilgallon a run at CB? PL has to be given a fighting chance to fashion his own team.

A streaky cup run is all we can look forward to. In the mean time we need a few points and quickly. Mid-table mediocrity would suit me just now!

Ok.

We have not performed in any way since the regime change.

I repeat, I do not accept that we had to go backwards in order for PL to assess the squad.

I do not question our decision to appoint PL and was more than happy with the appointment.

We come onto this board to reflect what we see on the pitch and for the last 8 games our performances have deteriorated.

PL has tried everything in his power to attempt to consolidate and improve on our steady but unspectacular start to the season but he has been unable to even provide a glimmer of creativity or flair.

I accept that we have a mediocre squad but it is the manager's job to get the best out of every player.

13 out of the 15 players we have selected in the last 8 games are playing way below their early season form.

I repeat, it's hard to watch but I wont be calling for Lambert's head until this time next year.

I am concerned though that he is unable to show even a glimpse of progress or consolidation (performance-wise) so far.

I cannot see January loan signings significantly changing this but I live in hope.

If there's one good thing that comes out of this defeat may it be that we hurry up and make some signings as soon possible to improve the team! We've got four league games in January to come, all of which we really should be looking to win. But at the moment there's just not enough creavitity or goals in the team, it's been the same problem since the beginning of the season. We lost Dunn/Cairney, King & Gestede they proved creavitity, pace and goals respectively and we never brought any players of that level to replace them (may be understandable given we was under the transfer embargo) but now we have the chance to do so I just hope we manage to bring some decent quality in.

It's frustrating because we have improved a lot defensively this season and I don't think that's an area of the team that needs alterting too much. All the 1-0 defeats and 0-0 draws this season suggest that with a little more going forward and we could turn those sorts of games into three points.

This is all a cumulation of bowyer, it will probably take years to get a squad good enough to challenge for promotion

Why blame Bowyer ? it is as daft as the over reaction to this latest defeat.

According to Radio Lancs - Cardiff have lost only one home match this season - hardly the push overs that many expected.

The last three defeats could easily have been 1-0 wins, as we have had good chances to score just prior to the opposition in each of them. As mentioned by many the early stages of Souness and Hughes reign's weren't marked with sparkling football - sometimes you have to crack a few eggs to make an Omelette - especially when the style of play he wants is so different to what went before. My only criticism of PL is that he has attempted to change too much too soon - but hope (and pray) that we will see the benefits of that approach later in the season.

What early season form? We didn't win a game until mid way through September.

The majority of these players are awful, mostly in midfield and attack. Replacing the awful Koita with the awful Delfouneso says it all about the options Lambert has.

At least 5 new players are needed ASAP to sort this, and we're talking first teamers, not squad fillers. That's a big ask for any manager, particularly in January. Let's hope Lambert has a few connections open and irons in the fire.

You sound like my 3 year old asking why? I can completely understand your hatred of the venkys but I like to think people can change (or learn / be educated) so will maintain my current semi-optimism that they have sorted themselves out

It truly is shocking.

Staggered that Lambert has not been able to get more out of this squad of players.

Came off PNE full of optimism - that has now evaporated completely. Unless we bring in at least two quality additions, we might just yet get dragged into a relegation scrap.

Only personal consolation today is that I backed Cardiff.

The basics are that

Steele - is @#/?

Olsoon - average if not @#/?

Hanley - average but liable to get sent off

Duffy - average but playing like @#/?

Marshall - not a right back and off form

Akpan - @#/?

Williamson - conference level @#/?

Conway - surrounded by @#/?

Koita - laughably @#/?

Rhodes - @#/? without service

Hope I didn't miss anyone out

How much are those half season tickets again? ^_^

Too damned late. I already bought mine!

The last few performances have been abject- truly woeful.

After a cooling off period/time of reflection I can safely say Bolton was a complete embarrassment. No bottle, no skill, no pace...no point in going to watch.

I am still clinging in to the hope that Lambert made a positive transfer window a condition of his appointment, but I can't pretend these last few " performances" have been any better than some under Bowyer-rather worse, if I am being honest.

I think we all know the score. A decent transfer window or relegation!

What a terrible five years this has been. Even in the "bad old days" the negative bits only seemed to last two years before the return of some hope, belief-even passion.

We all know whose fault it is. And,for the record, whenever I hear the phrase "Venky's were naive", I reach for my revolver!

Bloody cowards are missing their buddy Bowyer. I hope they're all shown the door. Maybe they could pay the Rovers fans their ticket money back.

It looks that way doesn't it. In the close season after last season's abject performances I felt like I didn't care if I never saw a single one of the players apart from Rhodes in a Rovers shirt again, and I'm starting to feel that way once more.

I feel really sad for people who purchased a half season ticket on the strength of Lambert's appointment and the initial improvement in results. Given that the first game included in the half season ticket (Boro) was postponed this bunch of wasters have managed to play themselves completely out of play off contention over the festive period without anybody getting chance to see a ball kicked. A repeat of last season in many ways when the campaign was effectively over by February.

Still a bit of work to be done to secure safety this season though. Hope the owners aren't quite as trigger happy as when Berg was here or they'll be earning yet another manager a P45.

You don't win games by creating just one or two half chances per game, DMTP. It's just not feasible to be that efficient. We're not creating clear chances and we're not testing opposition goalkeepers. There really is no positive at the moment other than hopefully the majority of these rubber dinghy men will be out of our club before long.

I still don`t understand why we sold King, Carney and Gestede. If getting out of FFP was so important why didn`t the owners just pay us out of it. We need flair players that can make things happen, as it stands they are going to have to spend a lot to get us out of trouble anyway.

I will say this, there is no excuse for starting Williamson today. He should've known within his first week that the guy is a one-paced crab. I know he gives his all, and I could never fault him for that, but he's League Two quality at best.

I and quite a few others on here, have been saying for quite sometime that midfielders like him are not good enough to give us any chance of

challenging at the top end of this league. I would put Lowe, Taylor, Guthrie and Akpan in the same category.

Let's hope PL sees that too, after today's performance, new blood required in that area as an absolute must.

The fact that he felt he had to epitomises the lack of quality in the squad, particularly when it comes to central midfield. Williamson is far from the only League 1/League 2 standard player in our ranks either.

I actually thought Williamson was the pick of our midfielders last season. (Not saying much I know)

Bizarre decision by Bowyer to hand him another contract then completely freeze him out of the reckoning though imo. If he wasn't going to figure regularly he should have been released.
