Lambert is correct. We did deserve a point. We didn't play well and were woefully short on quality, but on the balance of the game QPR didn't do enough to beat us. We started the brighter, finished the game stronger and had a 5-10 minute spell before half time where we should have scored. The other hour was dross, from both sides.

There's no doubt in my mind, that what we saw last night was relegation football. It was dire in the extreme.

Not being at games and seeing little thats meaningful on tv highlights my question is simple - was it really that bad?

I was looking at the league table today and kind of got a cold shiver. S-hit happens sometimes.

I'm not looking to knock past or present managers but just think if we can survive this season then ok who knows? but there's hope as I do believe the Venkys/Raos or whatever will invest more.

Are we really crap?

OH and Robbo should still be our Keeper - but then again I only see highlights! ^_^

Sorry to throw this out there but prepare yourselves for good old dose of Jason Lowe (when fit).

Lambert may be the making of him.

He cannot do any worse than the midfield we have wearing the shirt now.

I thought in parts we were better, but we're not there yet by any stretch.

Brown has become the latest scapegoat and it's another embarrassing thing (along with the booing) that eminates from our crowd. I wonder why on earth people think that's helpful, I really do.

Sorry, not having that at all. Brown's a disgrace to professional football and an embarrassment to the shirt imo.

Been here 18 months, not scored a single goal, never likely to, rarely fit for selection, and looks like he could do to lose a fair amount of timber.

Completely symptomatic of the GB era imo, picking his wages up for doing absolutely nothing. Unfortunately we're probably stuck with the useless lump until he is paid off or his contract expires, THis is the sort of thing Lambert has to contend with presently unfortunately.

I've seen a few relegation teams in my time ARA and last night had all the hallmarks of one of them. I'm not saying we will go down, but if we didn't have the cushion we have, we would certainly be in trouble in my opinion. Back four playing hoof ball with no quality whatsoever, midfielders not wanting the ball and getting rid ASAP when they did have it, all coupled with forwards simply unable to get into the game. QPR were bang avarege at best, but showed far more quality on the ball than we did. I hope Lambert and co realise this.

I think Brown is a poor player, I'm not disagreeing with you at all!

But, what does the current treatment of him achieve?

Depressing read den. I just hope Lambert can arrest the decline which has been ongoing for ages, stay in the Championship and get access to some transfer funds in the Summer to rebuild. Bloody hell I wish I felt better but I don't.

On the basis that we had only won three games out of 16 when PL took over and were looking relegation fodder, I'm not surprised that Lambert tried to change things quickly.

Its looking increasingly like the players are unable and/or unwilling to adapt to change. Perhaps the players share Bowyer's vision for the club, basically just coast along in the lower half of the Championship and pick up their 10 grand or whatever till they retire.

They know they are not good enough for the Premier League so why try to get there? Easy Street.

The players have done a Chelsea on him but I'm pretty confident it won't be Lambert who leaves.

Whatever it takes, however long it takes, we have to get behind this guy and hope its a Norwich he does, not a Villa.

There is no alternative.

This is the best post I've read on here for a long while, The second paragraph about the majority of them being prepared tp coast along ad infinitum probably sums it up perfectly.

It might be harsh to say so but he needs bombing out of the Club asap and replacing with a striker who will actually contribute. He might not be the only one in that respect but he is the most high profile and obvious culprit, he's the worst striker I've seen at the Club in my 45 years of watching apart from Paul McKinnon.

The treatment of him last night by the crowd was mischievous rather than downright nasty, if he wants to shut them up he knows how to do it, by scoring a few goals. That's what he's being paid for and has singularly failed to deliver.

Unquestionably we need better players all over the pitch, not just up front, but he's been injured for the most part of his time here and I'm not denying that he's been terrible since being here, but I can't help but think he may have done better if he hadn't been injured so much and not had such a stuttering start to his career here. It's all irrelevant now and I think this season is a total write-off.

In any event, I think have become extremely impatient since Venky's arrived, Brown is a byproduct of that for me. But like I said, I'd have no objections to him being jettisoned, and I expect he will be.

Most of the players probably know they're on the way out. Unfortunately we've largely signed a group of players who's nature in adversity is to shrug their shoulders and throw the towel in.

Anybody who's played in team football will know that players come with all different sorts of mentalities. Some will run till they drop for the team, that's their nature. Some will only run if the other players are running. Some will only run when it suits them, that's also their nature.

You can only afford a couple of the latter, and they better be good when they finally get the ball.

Every team needs the willing runners. What we've got is an imbalance at Rovers at the moment. Not enough players that are willing runners and too many who just run when it suits them.

The coaching staff will know this but what to do about it in the short term is another story.

Given the mentality of the players we've got most will be resigned to being shown the door instead of fighting to stay at the club. That's their nature.

Where I blame the previous management is that they signed a large majority of players with the wrong mentality.

Another top post. Who knows whether Lambert will be a success in the long term but I hope the owners show the patience to at least give him the chance to sort it out. It's looking pretty clear to me that this group of players won't perform for 90 minutes week in week out for anyone. A bit of a token effort when a new man took over was the most they were prepared to muster.

I said that right at the beginning of the season Den. It would be unlikely that there would be three teams worse than us. That was our only chance of staying up.

If there was a league table for application, attitude, will to win, effort, fighting spirit we'd be down already.

Doesn't a scrappy, last-ditch equaliser show that there's at least some fight in the team?

I wish there was some way to easily identify if posters were at the game. Not just this thread but all post match threads. I do pay attention more to those, whatever their views, who were there.

One thing for sure imo that you can really judge if you are at a game is if players are putting the effort in.

I struggle to handle the concept of a footballer not really trying.

Which brings me on to Olsson.........door......close on the way out.

The one that dropped to him on the 6yd line...my wheelie bin has faster reflexs.,however lots blame rhodes .

lambert alluded to this.

nope..that fight should be there from the kick off and not the last 10 mins.

Marshall was the best player last night! I think his form is getting better!

how do you come to this ..not one player showed any form or be described as "best".
