Seen Shane Duffy's dad on facebook talking about abuse from our fans. I've said it before and i'll say it again, our fans are clueless morons in the majority... Strange to support a club and be so disconnected from your own fan base. I mean, I think Brown is crap but to laugh at him and to make fun off him... @#/? is that about? Bennett looked disgusted apparently. Inevitably fans will start to turn on Lambert and for me that could be the last straw to lose all interest.

Very difficult to be a Rovers fan these days.

I wouldn't say majority, just a quite vocal minority.

It was a lot of fans taking the mickey out of Brown but my opinion isn't just based on yesterday it was based on how cowardly they all where when Kean Venkys came in. Certainly not the brightest bunch.

Every club has them.

I haven't seen the comments made about Duffy on Twitter and there's no excuse for outright abuse but I find it difficult to have too much sympathy for him after watching him plant yet another free header straight at the keeper from five or six yards out. You can excuse a defender a few misses but twenty odd from good positions without a goal to show for it is simply unacceptable. He's done well at times defensively and not so well at others but I think the time has come for him to be barred from going up for corners, it's that bad.

Brown I definitely think people are over reacting to the fans' almost affectionate mickey taking. I think he's now viewed as so bad he's good like a really terrible TV show if you see what I mean. I certainly think the fans would be excused for being far more vitriolic towards him. 18 months at the Club rarely fit and yet to find the scoresheet, but still drawing a wage, what the @%¥$ is that all about?

Time to stop feeling so sorry for these underperforming "stars".

I thought he was very good on the whole, seemed to be eager to overlap with Conway a lot more than Olsson, despite the latter being faster.

Excellent on dead balls too.

I thought he was average and a lot of mind games are going on, was the sponsors box even occupied on Tuesday? May be a bit of mischief in the man of match award and subsequent praise, telling a certain someone he isn't as important as he may think!

He is a bang average, probably a decent League One player but he does seem to have a good attitude. I can think of many players who would have thrown their toys out of the pram for not getting any game time. The worry for me is that Lambert is talking him up like he is a top player when we can all see that he clearly isn't. With him being out of contract Lambert could end up with egg on his face if he doesn't offer him a new one after bigging him up. Lambert has done similar things with some other players who aren't up to it.

You might well be correct about mind games but going public hasn't really done Lambert any favours in my opinion.

There never has been much in the way of great vocal support for our players when things aren't going well. It's always tended to be silence followed by frustration followed by boo's, chastising and heckling certain players by a minority. Fans have the right to their opinion of course and it's the hardcore turning up week in week out who spit the dummy so it's hard not to understand why but it certainly won't help.

We want the players to give it their best and as we know just paying them 10k+ pwk isn't enough for some of these half arsed lads on the park. Thing is the fans should give it their best first before starting to abuse and I think that's why some other sets of fans get away with it in the media more than ours. They at least vocally try and get the team going before spitting the dummy.

Sad times but in the bigger picture things aren't as bad as they were and I often wonder how our lot at home would react should we follow the Blackpool or Bolton path :(

I'm sure I'm on the minority here but I really like Spurr. He seems like he really enjoys being at Rovers.

I've nothing against Spurr, he seems like a decent bloke and a good professional. He's fine to have as back up, but we need better in the first team if we have aspirations above mid table.

Spot on. A good one to have on the bench as he can play adequately in several positions. But we need better than adequate to be starting games!

I went on Tuesday and was hoping to see some of the football we showed against Forest in the first half however we got more of the Rotherham/Bolton showing.

What really annoyed me was the constant long balls. If we had a Rudy up there then it's a worthwhile tactic but long balls aren't what Rhodes needs and it just cuts Lawrence right out the game.

I don't know if it's tactical or the lads at the back just aren't comfortable passing the ball through Akpan and Evans but it was long balls all the way. It wasn't till Lenihan came on that we started to play it on the deck. It was a shame he had to go back to centre half. I would like to see him given a run in the side.

Courage in football isn't about making bonecrunching tackles it's about taking the ball when under pressure. Oh for a Tugay.

JH rover

Darragh Lenighan was impressive when he came on. I would drop Duffy irrespective of his fitness on Saturday and play either Kilgallon or Lenighan next to Hanley.

This.

Incidentally, abuse of Duffy is not on. No problem with his attitude whatsoever- gives his all and wears his heart on his sleeve. Just think he is a lower league stopper.

Also, I know the ironic cheering of Brown is funny but do not condone it –poor lad gives his all each time he comes on. If he scores there will be genuine applause I guess.

As for Lambert thinking Spurr was outstanding? Has he heard of slow motion? And I’m afraid that was certainly a penalty late on. Long throw specialist I guess for Brown. Lord help us. PR from Lambert to threaten Olssen.

DE.

Something I'm not sure was mentioned:

I thought the minutes applause for fans, players and managers who passed in 2015 was a lovely gesture from the club. Is it something we normally do, as I don't recall?

I'm sure we did it last year for the first time. The photographs on the big screen make it quite poignant.

It's been done before and tends to get done at most clubs on their first home fixtures in Jan. Great gesture but no way unique to Rovers. These mins applause/silence are becoming as much part of the game as the standard extra 4 mins after the 90 every match.

One thing they should bin off for me is the stupid lining up, fair play handshake when they come out. Used to just be a Prem gimmick but seems to be everywhere now. Just let the teams run out towards their fans, line up and kick off it was always better for the atmosphere and why does everyone have to be so nice to each other these days ? Your opponents are the enemy till it's over then you can shake hands, hug, kiss and back slap them !

Well that's the "disneyfication" of football though its worse in the US with attempts to ban swearing by fans. Of course it will never go THAT far in this country! Don't like it either players being forced to line up like a bunch of schoolchildren and be good little corporate puppets. If I was a premier league footballer would I want to shake hands with Man United players for instance prior to the game? Of course not!

Just be on the pitch in time for kickoff and scrap the teams running out altogether. I wouldn't have big screens in stadiums either just play music (as long as its decent) before the game. Even the video "technology" feels like sanitisation and an attempt to remove drama and controversy which is an essential part of football. Hopefully there will be a backlash to that eventually and I knew the moment they started with goal line replays more would follow. I guess some (perhaps a mixture of younger and certainly older) would consider all seater stadiums and no terracing as part of the sanitisation too. Personally I don't mind all seater stadiums and modern facilities but overall there should always be an "edge" to football particularly on the field.

Rovers fans often state the belief that its a "family club" (though less so since Venkys took over) so maybe some people on here like the whole "nicey-nicey" side with footballers acting like so called role models.

Minute silences and applause are ok for me. Though silences are probably more appropriate when involving a major incident (such as terrorism) or the circumstances of death. An ex footballer or manager who lives until age 90 for instance should probably get applause. An untimely death should probably get silence though obviously there would be input from relatives for individual cases.
