I;m in favour of goal line technology but it should begin and end there for me. Agree with the not running out together it was things like that got the crowd going. The away team used to run out first and everyone booed and then the home team to big cheers, run straight towards the goal clapping the fans who in turn chanted the favs names one by one and always cheered the names read from the team sheet (well most of em :) )

Embarrassing and long winded now, some people don't even applaud the team out. Don't think there would anything wrong with clubs being able to have a safe standing area in one part of the ground. Some stadia before redevelopment had certain sections with it split 50/50 standing at the front and seats at the back.

Safe standing requires only one thing: allow people to stand as they wish, provided it is at their seat. Then allow for common sense swapsies if someone needs to sit.

No ground redevelopment need be done at all. Nowhere in England at an all-seater stadium do we see fans fall in heaps down the seats even in the e Stacy of goalscoring. Apart from the odd Soccer AM clip.

I've had four fall over my shoulder into the row in front of me, top tier at Newcastle. Mind you it is steep up there.

Disagree completely.

There needs to be an area where people can still be able to sit and see the game, as well as accommodate standing fans. Forcing an old chap to stand all match just because you want to stand in front of him, Mike? Or a young kid to stand on their seat all game? Sense swapsies? Don't talk daft.

You don't 'disagree' at all :P I didn't type it up properly (as can be seen from the silly spelling errors) but you basically retyped my exact point.

By 'swapping', I meant ensuring the standing fans are behind the sitting fans, whether through people exercising common sense or by a seat allocation policy.

Yes it happens anyway but in an unofficial way but if it was made official it wouldn't work at all because like everything else it would get abused. People would then go in and the ones at the back would be standing on seats every week etc and the first person to bust their leg or something getting trapped between the seats opens up another can of worms in the blame/claim culture.

Plus the whole idea of standing for some is more about being able to move around, jump about when a goal is scored rather than just the actual standing.
