Bust up with PL before the Cardiff away game when Olsson refused to get off the team coach.

If that happened and I am sure your sources are accurate PB then Olsson needs to be shown the door. It is Marcus ? JW

The only ego that matters in the dire that we are in is Lamberts.

His task is simply to stay up - and weirdly I believe that the Owners will spend big in the Summer.

We can analyse and theorise all we want but the bottom line is that far too many of our squad simply aren't good enough to play Championship football. It really hit home today when on numerous occasions any one of a number of players should have controlled the ball and picked a pass. Instead they headed or kicked the ball to a Brighton player. We were taking far too much time in possession simply because the touches of too many just aren't good enough. The absolute lack of quality is becoming embarrassing right through the team and Lambert has taken on the devils own job trying to get something from them. I saw today for the first time that Lambert is becoming frustrated by them as he was far more demonstrative than he has been.

On another thread the question has been asked about who to keep or let go. On the evidence of the last five games I would get rid of them all.

Spot on!

We have to stay up - which I'm certain that we will with the 5 or so teams below us. But, when the big, rich PL clubs start coming down this season and next, it really is now or never for us. Spend big, and gamble to go up and face he consequences if we don't? Or do it the Ipswich way, but continue as a mid table Championship club, which will take a lot more time and commitment.

At this stage, I'd risk it. This summer is the time to push for promotion

Well, as the old saying goes, you can't polish a turd (our squad).

But, you can roll it in glitter (bringing in Lambert).

Ultimately, its just a turd...

We are so slow all over the pitch, Brighton I thought looked quicker and broke with purpose and fast passing where we always seemed to take the pace out of the game immediately and looked for something safe with a pass sideways or backwards rather than looking to create and move forwards.

Other than that, the long ball is the next option...

The players don't look like they are working to find space for each other and there are countless balls being played that end up short, behind the man, intercepted or out of play. Very poor and frustrating to watch from the stands...

I want to see people take the game by the scruff of the neck, make something happen.

I wouldn't mind if it didn't come off every time but to see someone trying lifts the crowd!

Something I noticed before kick off.

The attacking players were in front of where I sit shooting at Raya in the goal set up at the side and I couldn't believe how many of the shots were straight down the middle and right at the keeper.

Shouldn't they be looking to make the keeper work and put it beyond his reach?

Thought we had yet another poor referee at Ewood as well, the standard in this league is awful.

Was it Zamora who blatantly kicked Marshall off the field with just a telling off before handing Killa a yellow soon after for something of a softer nature?

Bet Lambert and his staff are worried about the quality of what they inherited now.

Do what we can for the remainder of this season and look to overhaul if we can in the summer... :tu:

I thought Lambert was brought in for a push for promotion? Were we not told that the squad was good enough for the play offs and it was just that the manager was holding us back? Who the F@$k were we kidding? Is it possible the squad was over performing under bowyer and giving everyone the illusion there was talent on the pitch?

If it is true then well done Lambert for leaving him out. Might be a touch of cutting off your nose but it shows them who is in charge and strong management should be applauded by us all. If true however.

Don't the premier league parachute payments end after next season? If so the summer without embargo has to be all in. Otherwise our finances are sh!t again.

Well I had a nice day out. A few beers with my pals before the game, and a good chinwag whilst the game was on. We didn't bother shouting or singing really, it doesn't seem to do any good anyway, but we did enjoy a good boo at the end because it seemed to be the thing to do (although that doesn't do any good either apparently). Nevertheless, I did feel the need to applaud once or twice when the players did a good long kick, attempted to regain possession enthusiastically, or headballed it high into the snowy sky. Had a good laugh at the various angry blokes who seem to take a poor performance by the Rovers as a personal insult and get all worked up to the point of having to stand up, gesticulate wildly and swear at the tops of their voices. Maybe they should go and watch a more successful team if it pains them so much? Personally I don't mind which division we are in, my match day experience would be much the same.

Really poor performance once again. I've never seen a team with less attacking instincts. It feels like we are under pressure even when we have the ball because we just pass sideways or to a marked man who has to pass it back. Eventually we lose the ball or punt it aimlessly. Surely someone can find a bit of space somewhere on the pitch.

Of the recent run of matches against Rotherham, Forest, Bolton, Reading, Cardiff, QPR and Brighton, none of the other teams have been any great shakes but one goal is usually good enough and teams are finding it easy to defend their lead. One goal from a Rovers player in 7 matches says it all.

Have to give a new manager time to build a team but at least he knows where he's starting from given today's evidence. Things don't always start well ( Ferguson at Utd, Kendall at Everton) but hopefully Lambert will come good. Guess it depends on available funds or it will be a long hard road.

Absolutely awful. To say that Brown was MOM shows how far we've sunk.

Charlton has a 1-0 written all over it, and not in our favour. Spurr is an absolute liability, slows everything down, and where has Conway's from gone?

They didn't even look arsed at the end.

Absolutely spot on. Current team is letting us down, and that's an understatement. We couldn't match Bolton so I'm not confident we can do a decent job against Charlton. Each player is so predictable and it doesn't take opposition long to sus out weaknesses. Hope PL gave them the hair dryer treatment

We need to clear out and start again. Too much complacency has set in after three years of treading water. I suspect a lot of the players know their days are numbered at the club and are happy to play in first gear.

I noticed soon after the half time whistle that the Brighton substitutes were going through a coordinated warm up. Out substitutes came ambling out in dribs and draws after about seven minutes and began to @#/? about. It went through my mind that there could be some kind of mutiny by the players in retaliation for having to work harder. Just my opinion and theory though.

You know what, right now I would genuinely get Dunny back in the squad till the end of the season. Might not feel the same way tomorrow but a defeat in todays manner is truly demoralising. The aim for this season now is just to stay up and then give PL the summer to try and completely overhaul the team, even if we lost the next 4 games I wouldn't want him sacked, if you look at and dissect the current squad our league position is probably representative of where we should be and that is where we are. I am keeping faith in PL to overhaul the squad in the summer and get us pushing for them play offs next season, that's the only thing keeping me going with Rovers at the minute.

Well it was game over after 2 minutes when Bobby Zamora tapped the ball in as you could confidently put down a large amount of money we wouldn't score. Marshall went close with the free kick but nothing else particularly came close, Rhodes had a few half chances but half chances are certainly not going to go in during this run of form.

Conceding so early made it so easily for Brighton to take an age with every single free kick, goal kick and slight knock. Good luck to them playing like that as our appalling defending completely asked them to do that.

We seem to be trying to reinvent football, the game looks so hard all of a sudden. We literally look like we could go the rest of the season only scoring a goal here and there every few games. The huge concern for me is we don't have any other options to change games other than what played today bar a left back that potentially wants to leave.

So many players had stinkers, although I have to say I feel sorry for any young player trying to come through in this team at the moment today wasn't a good one for lenihan.

Make no mistake we're not too good to go down. You struggle to see where our next goal is coming from, let alone a win. Charlton game becomes massive. Can our poor little souls raise their game for the occasion? I have serious doubts.

A Charlton side who have lost there last two games 5-0 and 6-0. Big game for two poor sides needing to bounce back from recent results, if we lose there with another poor performance then you really have to question like others have, whether the players are taking a stand to PL intense training methods, sell them all, other than Conway and Rhodes it really wouldn't bother me!
