When the deal hadn't been completed yesterday I was twitching ... Now I really am! The only way we can win is bigger bid by a premiership team has come in and he signs today for them.

I've accepted he's gone (and in the long term we'll could be better rebuilding without him), so it would make me laugh if he went elsewhere other than Boro whose fans think they are Barcelona the way they go on.

Bidding war should = more cash to Rovers

Would laugh until I can't laugh any more if Boro got gazumped. What a bunch of deluded fools that lot have become, nothing but a slightly bigger version of Burnley that lot. Probably even more inter family relations if we are being honest.

My guess is Newcastle. I've always imagined him going there for some reason.

I really hope it is true and Rovers get him sold to a Premier League team. Leaving Middlesbrough in limbo would bring me immense satisfaction.

You'd hope Rovers had the sense to realise that we still have to play Middlesbrough twice as part of our survival bid and letting Rhodes go there when other, bigger clubs from the Premier League are interested would be a big disadvantage to us.

Rumours that Newcastle were interested? Doubt Swansea as they spent £8 million on a striker last week.

Not the worst suggestion but surely they are coming down to Championship Rhodes wouldn't be interest at all

Lamberts Villa connections as well. Maybe convinced them teaming him up with Rudy again is the key to their survival :)

From their point of view though he'd be a good addition to fire them back up next season. Thinking ahead maybe.

If it is a club will most likely be newcastle they are splashing the cash wiht townsend and shelvey in and all they missing is a goalscorer and mclaren was linked with Rhodes whilst at derby

A couple of Middlesbrough based friends know Steve Gibson and they tell me he is not a man to mess about with. After all the angst it would be ridiculous if the deal didn't go through now.
