roversoutsider Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Really hope things don't go pear shaped for us. The longer this drags on the less time we'll have to make any buys ourselves.

Spankus Munky Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 So Newcastle, Sunderland or Villa, who do we think it is?
Pedro Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 FL92Transfer @FL92Transfer 2m2 minutes ago Middlesbrough's transfer of Jordan Rhodes is on the rocks due to a higher bid from a premier league team #BRFC #Boro Good. He doesn't want to be here and the more money the better. Hopefully get a couple of good loaned in. I don't begrudge him a move up in the slightest.
Lancaster Rover Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 If it's a prem team then it's adios Boro, some of their fans have been pretty classless the last few days so this would give me a giggle. Wouldn't surprise me if its Sunderland
frosty Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 That FL92 account has 68 tweets and about 700 followers, probably not the most reliable.
cesus Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 When the deal hadn't been completed yesterday I was twitching ... Now I really am! The only way we can win is bigger bid by a premiership team has come in and he signs today for them.
OJRovers Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I've accepted he's gone (and in the long term we'll could be better rebuilding without him), so it would make me laugh if he went elsewhere other than Boro whose fans think they are Barcelona the way they go on. Bidding war should = more cash to Rovers
tomphil Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Swansea maybe ? Would laugh until I can't laugh any more if Boro got gazumped. What a bunch of deluded fools that lot have become, nothing but a slightly bigger version of Burnley that lot. Probably even more inter family relations if we are being honest.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 So Newcastle, Sunderland or Villa, who do we think it is? Could be Swansea. It's got to be somebody who's desperate for goals.
Lancaster Rover Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Can't see it bring Swansea, Guidolin is proper old school Italian. Obsessed with tactics and systems, especially defensively. Can't see Rhodes fitting in to that.
Stuart Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 So Newcastle, Sunderland or Villa, who do we think it is? My guess is Newcastle. I've always imagined him going there for some reason.
sharpysharps Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Swansea just signed an Italian striker for about 8 million, could be them but doubtful. Sunderland or Newcastle it could be for sure.
Lancaster Rover Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 My guess is Newcastle. I've always imagined him going there for some reason. Because they've more money than sense?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 This needs to be done. The way things stand at the moment we need the dosh to be able to strengthen a couple of other positions more than we need Rhodes back in the fold.
JHRover Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I really hope it is true and Rovers get him sold to a Premier League team. Leaving Middlesbrough in limbo would bring me immense satisfaction. You'd hope Rovers had the sense to realise that we still have to play Middlesbrough twice as part of our survival bid and letting Rhodes go there when other, bigger clubs from the Premier League are interested would be a big disadvantage to us. Rumours that Newcastle were interested? Doubt Swansea as they spent £8 million on a striker last week.
Spankus Munky Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Eric Black just joined the Villa coaching staff didn't he? hmmm
chaddyrovers Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Eric Black just joined the Villa coaching staff didn't he? hmmm Not the worst suggestion but surely they are coming down to Championship Rhodes wouldn't be interest at all
tomphil Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Eric Black just joined the Villa coaching staff didn't he? hmmm Lamberts Villa connections as well. Maybe convinced them teaming him up with Rudy again is the key to their survival Not the worst suggestion but surely they are coming down to Championship Rhodes wouldn't be interest at all From their point of view though he'd be a good addition to fire them back up next season. Thinking ahead maybe.
jim mk2 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016  You couldn't make it up! Looking at that particular website I'm sure they have made it up.
SoldierMo Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 If it is a club will most likely be newcastle they are splashing the cash wiht townsend and shelvey in and all they missing is a goalscorer and mclaren was linked with Rhodes whilst at derby
Pete1981 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Graeme Bailey @GraemeBailey 2m2 minutes ago Middlesbrough continuing talks with Jordan Rhodes. They remain hopeful of securing his signature despite thus far failing to agree terms
Lancaster Rover Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Weird, Nicko posted on Twitter terms had been agreed. Someone sonewhere is telling porkies.
chaddyrovers Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Newcastle close in on Roma striker Seydou Doumbia as Ivory Coast international undergoes medical on TynesideRead more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3425149/Newcastle-close-Roma-striker-Seydou-Doumbia-Ivory-Coast-international-undergoes-medical-Tyneside.html#ixzz3ypX2eoxk Surely this rule out Newcastle. Swansea I guess are the team
ada2020 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 No way Allardyce is bidding for Rhodes IMO. So one of Newcastle or Villa perhaps.
arbitro Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Graeme Bailey @GraemeBailey 2m2 minutes ago Middlesbrough continuing talks with Jordan Rhodes. They remain hopeful of securing his signature despite thus far failing to agree terms A couple of Middlesbrough based friends know Steve Gibson and they tell me he is not a man to mess about with. After all the angst it would be ridiculous if the deal didn't go through now.
