I always thought if a player requested a transfer, he waived his loyalty bonus but if not he was entitled to it. Furthermore if a players contract is effectively cancelled by being transferred he should be entitled to some compensation IF it results in a loss to the individual. - no loss, no compensation. So if you move for lower wages the selling club owes the difference between the two sets of wages, if you move for higher wages I would think a court would throw any claim out

My understanding too. Very good explanation.

The players reacted positively immediately to Sam's arrival. After a brief honeymoon period I'd say it has gone the other way with PL.

That was a completely different situation. It was pre Venkys for one.

Rovers players back then were used to the discipline and professionalism of Mark Hughes. They'd just spent a few months at Paul Ince's soccer school, complete with press up's for ill discipline. All Allardyce did was restore the top class set up the Hughes regime had. The players missed it.

Lambert has a much harder job on his hands.

Back to the discussion. If Rhodes goes Lambert will get the money this summer as it's a bit late in the day now.

Mrs D is too nice for that, and Shaw probably doesn't know we are selling Rhodes ;)

Shaw has probably been working his socks off all morning. Looking for a socket to plug in the fax machine.

By the way. Has Abbey been taken ill, passed away or been banned?

Rhodes 1/10 on Sky bet now, to go to Boro which in my book, means he is likely to end up there. Someone on Twitter has suggested that's just an indication of where the money is though, although I beg to differ on this type of market.

Very good. If it was accidental then even better.

It's not as funny when you have to explain it

:D

I'll take your word on that and order one. British industry needs more innovators and leaders.

As for Rhodes let's move on. It has happened before and will happen again.

In Shaw we trust...........NOT

This is the bible for mfg and can be applied every where

Understand and agree with your point about "lleadership" but "man management" is a a crucial part of modern management as well.

How does your view fit with the widely-applauded win at Oxford and the 10-man resistance at Newport ?

That's exactly what it is. If i went and put £50k on Rhodes to join Stanley now then that would be shorter than 1/10

If the player wants to leave, I'm not so sure anyone with a bit of perspective could be desperate for this not to happen. No point keeping an unhappy camper, particularly with the amounts of money that will be freed up to allow Lambert to build what he wants in summer.

On another note, let's not forget that Graham and Watt are only on loan. If we want to keep them permanently, then that could be a large portion of the Rhodes money used up.

A fee believed to about £1.5m has already been agreed for the Watts option and Graham is out of contract in June.
