From the BBC:

Rhodes set to sign?

Is Blackburn's Jordan Rhodes going to complete his £12m-£13m move to Middlesbrough?

"Latest on Jordan Rhodes is that everything is agreed, contract drawn up ready to be signed.

"He was due at Rockliffe Park (Boro training ground) about 10 minutes ago.

"Their feeling is he'll walk in and sign quickly with everything now sorted."

So Rhodes didn't want to leave then ? Funny but I could have sworn he asked to speak to Lambert regarding a move to ' Boro .

If Lambert wanted to keep Rhodes, he could have. Venky's weren't pressuring him to sell, and Jordan has no history of sulking over failed moves so would have gotten on with it until the end of the season I'm sure.

Plenty on here have said we'll be better without Rhodes. Time to see if they're right.

Suhail Pasha is "that guy" as Yoda put it. Apparently was the one who got the club out of FUP. Also the only guy affiliated with Venkys who seems to have done something right.

That's the one.

You can bet the next time he traps up people will be asking how far they have to jump

More importantly PL would seem to think that

Not as much walking in as being carried in on a bed of slugs.

I know people have said he's not the fastest player but ffs, get a wriggle on Rhodes you lazy @#/?.

Given the way Lambert has gone about this transfer, he may decide to sit in their players lounge eating kit kats and watching SSN until 10:55pm...

£13M fee? That's incredible really. I suppose a few of that will be add ons and some will be due to Hudders but good fee for him. Once he had gone to talk on Saturday he had to go so I'm glad it's done even if I do think it's a huge gamble by us which could easily backfire.

Notice the 50/1 odds on betfair went down to 25/1 after a lot of bets taken on Saturday for us to go down.

'Boro fans seem to think £11m-£13m is too much for him. When he goes through his dry patches, and we've seen a few of those since he arrived, it certainly seems that way to me, too. To make a profit on him is great for a player who we could never afford in the first place.

Exactly. The money is too good to turn down and Rhodes isn't worth it. I wouldn't be happy if my club spent £13m on Rhodes

I think they've said we COULD be better off without him, assuming the money is reinvested properly. Weve been doing ever so well with him, haven't we.

There's a reason its so long hardly anyone considers it a likely prospect. Once again must point out the goal difference of the sides below compared to Rovers.

Either way Rhodes will still be playing in front of the Riverside...only a matter of time now tho.

Not really. If they're as good as they think they are they should make plenty of chances for him. Of course it's not guaranteed to work out that way.

What I meant was that if Rhodes bags a few in his first few games (which you seem to allude to), this board will discuss the transfer to death, I'e. we should have kept him, we should have sold him, repeat, repeat and repeat.

I for one believe we have got a proper footballing man in charge and will put my faith in him. As I said yesterday, the King is dead, long live the King.

He's worth it if he keeps us in this league though.

It's a big gamble if he's not replaced.

My point of view is that we now have a manager who can evidently do something with a more balanced team. If Bowyer was still our manager, then I'd be worried.

Going off the reports from the Oxford match, I hope we can now get over Rhodes and kick on. If we can play a team game with guile instead of just booting it up to Rhodes, then I'll be happier.
