G Somerset Rover Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jordi-gomez-admits-didnt-know-10824703 Says he's out of contract in the summer in the local paper here, maybe the last 12 months is an option? That's strange; read in numerous places he's on a 3 year deal and signed in 2014. Who knows then. If he does well it would obviously be good to snare him on a free, if possible.

Iceman Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Marshall at right back, Jackson right wing, with Gomez and Akpan in midfield and Conway on the left. Graham and Watt up front.

Reminds me of the articles about Leon Best's contract this time last year! According to Sunderland's official website, Gomez signed a three year contract in May 2014. Looking into the details, he is out of contract from 1st July 2017 onwards, so that's another 17 months off.
Dean Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Marshall at right back, Jackson right wing, with Gomez and Akpan in midfield and Conway on the left. Graham and Watt up front. Maybe against the weaker teams at home, certainly not against the stronger teams though. We'd get battered! I'd quite like to see us try a 4-3-3 in games where we are getting overrun in midfield (which will happen sometimes playing with two): Steele Marshall Ward Hanley Spurr Akpan Evans Gomez Jackson Watt Graham

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I can't see Jackson playing out wide, it's not his game. He likes to get in behind the centre halves.
Baz Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Is Gomez our latest heartthrob since Santa Cruz? No the girls love Tommy Spurr, or was it Grant Hanley, I cant remember.
VinjayV4 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Nixon was surprised by the signing because he's not really Lambert's type in terms of work ethic. Apparently Nixon and Lambert are very close. Perhaps Gomez isn't the type Lambert would usually go for. With such limited creativity and presumed limited alternatives maybe Lambert went against his usual instincts.

Sounds like you and Nixon are an item

deryck guyler's spoon Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Phil Jones used to set female hearts a flutter with his sensual facial renderings.
Backroom Mike E Posted February 6, 2016 Backroom Posted February 6, 2016 Looks like Tom M at the point of 'arrival'...

Vinjay, Nixon is persona non gratis to many posters on here. You are not making yourself popular by keep quoting him.
Leonard Venkhater Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 That's his annual prostate examination. By a Christian Brother?!
oldjamfan1 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Sounded like Gomez had a wonderful start to his Rovers career today. Could be a very fruitful move for both parties.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 6, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted February 6, 2016 Goal scoring debut, can't say fairer than that. We all know we've needed a midfielder that can pass in a long time. Let's hope we can keep him beyond the summer. Looking forward to seeing his contribution on the highlights.
gumboots Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I'll wait and see what Gumboots thinks.not a patch on Roque but not bad
Backroom Tom Posted February 6, 2016 Backroom Posted February 6, 2016 Looks like Tom M at the point of 'arrival'... I'm concerned about how you know this!
Colt Seavers Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Just got back. Gomez was very classy. He is going to be a star for us. Really enjoyed his performance. It's the first time we have had that type of cultured midfielder for ages. He got stuck in too.
davulsukur Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I'm concerned about how you know this! Just what he saw in the mirror.... (I apologise to both of you)
