Last time I looked, Degsy's shelving company looked pretty sound financially. Wouldn't have thought Degsy is without a bob or two, lovely house too.

Interesting stuff in today's LT. Although I think it's been on the cards for a while, you have to suspect there's been a sudden 'tipping point' and it would be no surprise if he's gone without a pay off and the usual NDA. Said before, there seems to be a new ruthlessness with Rovers and Pasha could be playing hardball - let's face it, after the Berg court case fiasco alone, there may well be enough to support a financially cheap parting of the ways.

Sounds like he was instrumental in the signing of the 'trio' of attacking players we hope will launch a few 'breakaway' attacks for our 'club' in a new '5,4,3,2,1' formation. (Yes I know that isn't exactly within the rules)

I just hope he can sort this assortment out before teatime!

I'll get my coat.

'Taxi' for windy!

Mixed I'd say. No cash but decent assets. My credit search company gives them quite a low score though they'd get 20k credit insured so not all bad.

Don't think it'd pay as well as being MD of Rovers though.

He's definitely rich he put money into Preston North End when the Baxi organisation were involved. They more or less tolerated him because of that so its the only reason he gained any football position. Shaw later bought out their stake and at some point after that Hemmings became majority owner. Some interesting comments in this article...

As for people questioning how he became rich someone told me they were often asked that. Just pointed to Posh Spice and then they understood lol.

Don't understand

Little known fact He was an original member of the Spice Girls before they got big , Scarey, Posh , Sporty, Baby and Shelfy, he wrote all the songs so got the royalties. Gerri Halliwell suited the Union Jack dress better so she got in instead

A classic line re PNE: " On 3 sides Deepdale is one of the finest stadia in the Nationwide - the fourth side has been shelved"

Good Contract that.

He had 28% of the Shares worth about 300k -peanuts in football terms.

Not many of their fans have much good to say about him and were extremely amused when we appointed him.

Good we can forget about him now.

I'm glad you can laugh about it. This'll stem from Beckham's time at Preston. Which was probably before he even knew "Posh Spice" but whatever. Anyway, Degsy was obviously at Preston then and Posh probably fell head over heels in love with the loveable rogue when she spotted him in the Directors Box. Infatuated Spice (aka Posh) allegedly, started stalking Shaw, regularly turning up at his house in the middle of the night - "tap tap tap at the window - tap tap tap - who was it? Bloody Posh Spice again" - went on for weeks if not months in my head all this until the Police were called in. There was no other option. It didn't go to court of course, but I believe the Spice Girls made at least 12 albums just to break even in what they had to pay Degsy in shelves. Terrible business. Can't believe you brought it up to be honest.

I bet they must have been buying all the albums themselves and storing them on you know what.

Probably catching dust in that last stand at dungdale

Another dubious no mark robbing a living on the back of rovers. How will we manage without shelfie and his fax machine. Perhaps contact Blackpool zoo for a loan of one of the orangoutangs.

It took the venkys 5 years to appoint their first manager so is it too much to ask that they finally replace Williams/Finn/Goodman as well.

To think the slumdogs have made the abominations such as Kean, Agnew, jerome Anderson, Shabby, Shaw, Paul hunt, Bradley Orr, Danny Murphy, etc, etc all very wealthy indeed. Hopefully one day we will have normal owners but another good decision and for the time being maybe just maybe they're starting to try and run the club properly....

Not sure why you've got Paul Hunt in that list .... he seemed a capable administrator when we (Fans Forum) dealt with him.

was Hunt not sacked right after sending that letter?

He was technically sacked 6 months later when it was leaked to the press. It was probably the first Venky's had seen of it, as I imagine the first time around it went straight in the bin.

Very strange interview with Lambert today in the Lancashire Telegraph about his take on the Shaw departure.

Basically Lambert says he knew nothing about Shaw's impending departure until the club put the statement out, but more importantly that Shaw's departure will have no impact on his job.

When asked if he now reports directly to India now that Shaw has gone he said:

'I'll have the same lines of communication I've always had except for Derek'

'There's no need to have stress. It's the great world of football we live, you're never quite sure what's round the corner. but there's no problem there'

It seems a strange thing to say. Lambert wouldn't confirm or deny who he reports to now that his theoretical boss in Shaw has gone. Why not just say 'yes I am now reporting directly to India' or 'no, there's someone else I work with who reports back to India'?

You mean the same Paul hunt who whilst advising to sack kean (credit for that) also added the caveat that he should be promoted/pay rise etc. He's on the list because for the latter alone showing he was just another self serving keaner.

That bit of the letter has always stood out to me as it does not imo fit in with the flow of the letter, almost has if it was added later or as an after thought.

Have you never asked for a pay rise?

The other point he was making was that it was bizarre for him to be a 'deputy' when there was no one in a more senior position.
