[Archived] Shaw Leaves!

Recommended Posts

I can't help thinking this is a gamble by Shaw, maybe calculated but a gamble nonetheless. I'm sure he will be represented by someone qualified enough to get him a result and having had some recent experience on Employment Law the best chance of winning is by employing a QC. If he wins Rovers will pick up his costs but if he loses he will not only have his own costs to find but I think he will have to pay Rovers costs also. Hopefully it does go all the way and more incriminating evidence is put out into the public domain.

He has some front and no shame!

Blackburn Rovers admitted in court that they are a football club out of control and being run by a renegade managing director whom they claim they are powerless to suspend.

As the nobbers say 'Well done Derek'. What a ridiculous appointment. Take a bow Mr Agnew.

:brfc:

Chuckle brothers, laughing all the way to the bank, but you never know what's around the corner, karma maybe?

Jack kept Agnew as program boy because he knew he was useless, but Jack got it wrong, he wasn't even fit to sell them, the useless ****.

I attended the preliminary hearing today as part of keeping ahead of things as per last week's EWMC meeting.

Shaw was there , with two representatives from his legal council , whilst Rovers Sent a single solicitor , who must of been a late change as he admitted during the proceedings he was not sure of the full content of the case he was presenting .

Main points, this case has been going on since June and both parties have failed to disclose to one another any evidence.

From Shaws perspective , he has taken this action which includes a number of employment issues during his time at rovers. At this stage he has not presented to the other side or the courts any supporting evidence or witness statements.

From Venkys side, they are counter claiming and have a number of their own claims , which no one knows what they are including Shaw, his representatives or the courts. They have presented no case , failed to answer any of Shaws claims, whilst their solicitor stated any correspondence from them may take 3 to 4 weeks and will be by email.

The judge stated that all cost would have to be covered by Venkys as they have not fulfilled any request asked of them.

One area which is part of the claim is interference in a transfer , which the judge was complexed, as was Shaw, as the player in question has not been disclosed by Venkys or their representation .

All in all this was typical Venkys, send someone who does not know the case , be as obstructive as possible , give the person who they sent a remit which he cannot answer for them, which again was frowned upon, whilst also being in denial and claiming to be hard done by.

Shaws delegation made it clear that mediation for an out of court settlement would not suffice , whilst Venkys solicitor could not answer the same question.

Case is now scheduled for Mid March next year.

I briefly spoke with Shaw RE witnesses, evidence etc. And made it clear that I have a number of things which may aid his case.

After orginally saying he had it covered , he said he may just take me up on that offer.

Are you able to say what you have that may help him Glen?

Also shows how fit and proper Venky's are yet again, they are bringing the game into disrepute, but that's nothing new.

Is it another way of just getting money out ? V's ignore it all, judge loses rag then awards shelf xxx amount and it just comes out the overdraft again. Similar to the Berg fiasco, just were does the money actually go.

All very suspicious yet again. Probably they just don't give a flying one either way but you'd think if it was just Derek being greedy and chancing his arm they'd be all over it to slap him down.

Venkys behaviour again is completely outrageous and can only lead to suspicions as to what it is they are really up to and whether this is deliberate. Normally if someone takes you to Court and you want to prove your innocence and win the case and avoid another pay off then you go out and arm your legal team with everything they need to fight your corner and win the case. They've done half the job by instructing legal representatives to attend Court on their behalf, yet seem to stop there and don't give them the full brief. Eventually the Judge will get fed up with tactics of not providing any evidence and not properly instructing their legal team and they will lose. They might think they are being clever or are above such things but it will cost them more money along the way and I would have thought after the Berg debacle that they would become very concerned at the prospect of going to Court again. Clearly not.

If neither side has provided any detail or evidence as to what it is they are claiming then I'm surprised the Judge hasn't just dismissed the claim immediately. Hopefully more and more information will come out in time as these Court hearings are probably the only sort of arenas that important information will seep out through the cracks. We can't rely on the football authorities or the media to deliver results so we will have to rely on the Courts and disgruntled ex-employees deciding to take legal action.

Hopefully there will be lots of dirt linen to be aired in public, once the hearing is held. That may well be why Venky's did what the have done today, as they may not want certain details to come out, just yet. Tine will tell, but yet again, something is badly amiss.

Glenn any reason you helping derek in all of this especially as you have been against his appointment just like the rest of us

Can't believe I'm being asked this in a public forum , however here goes.

Shaw has gone , end game is Venkys to go, getting information out publicly , there is no better way than court transcript.

Add into that , information shared and all that , as we are busy investigating the club.

Well now it's out there , that's another idea down the pan

Thanks for the update Glen. I would think that anyone who has left Ewood Park in the last 5 years would have a good case to sue for some kind of compensation and would probably win because the whole affair has been so sordid and badly managed you can guarantee they wouldn't be able to defend any action.

I might sue for wrongfull dismissal myself, never worked for them but how would they be able to prove that. I could say I was the Edinburgh based scout or something.
