[Archived] Shaw Leaves!

Completely disagree. Shaw's tribunal hearing may well be the latest example of a catalogue of incompetence by the owners and if Shaw hasnt been given what he is contractually entitled to the tribunal will sort that out and award a compensatory element on top if it feels he has been wronged.

Any right minded Rovers fan however  should not WANT Shaw to get a load of compensation, they should be hoping he walks away without a penny. Let alone be assisting him with his case.

Venky's own the Club. It's stupid to pretend differently. Whilst I might want new owners I don't want every single little thing to go wrong for them as it will have a detrimental knock on effect for the Club.

I can't abide that any more than wanting us to lose, be relegated, drop down the divisions, go bust and be replaced by a phoenix outfit just to get rid of the owners etc etc.

That's Stockholm Syndrome for you.

Stockholm syndrome is an alliance to those holding us hostage. What you are basically insinuating is his views mean he allies, or feels sympathy and love for the owners, ergo "Venky lover"

Absolute nonsense. I celebrated the equaliser tonight dancing around my kitchen, does that make me pro-Balaji?

Looked it up have you? Its used loosely nowadays to mean you feel frightened that however bad things are they would somehow be worse without the ones who caused it.

And your reference to Baliji proves my original point perfectly---it means you are able to distinguish between the Club and the owners.

Back on ignore, go and annoy someone else.

Getting new wheels on the car at 8.30 in the morning but hoping to get across to this later in day and Thursday , Friday if it gets that far.

Whatever is happening on the pitch , nothing has changed. Venkys are strangling the life out of this club and need to go for this club to have any real chance of surviving over the next few years. The cut backs are continuing , with big cuts at the Academy, more cuts on wage bill for next season as Cheston continues to cut the operating cost.

Regarding information , trading information can be costly without bargaining chips, we don't exactly have a war chest, so I utilise the next best thing. Knowledge , and knowledge is certainly power when it comes to the clowns who have darkened ewood over the last 6 years .

Not at all. I'm under no obligation to continue to support the Club and can walk away at any point if I choose.

However unlike some others I'm not so obsessed by Venkys to the exclusion of all else that I want us to fail at every turn to prove my point. I don't think we'll ever succeed under their stewardship but I could handle it if we did.

It's the sheer hypocrisy of it that grates as much as anything. No -one (including Glen) had a good word to say about Shaw when he was at the Club. I've met him briefly and he seems an amiable enough chap but he didn't seem to do anything particularly commendable or impressive in his professional capacity in his very brief time here.

He was a moron, as evidenced by his signing off of an obscene contract for Berg.

But if he has something against Venky's, we should use it to our advantage. Nobody 'wants' Rovers to fail. But I believe it's a bigger picture with implications for the good of Football governance that means all avenues against Venky's are pursued. It has ALL been done to the benefit of Rovers so far.

The point remains despite the childish retort. Seeing small positives in the ever changing big picture is not a symptom of a mental illness brought on by Venkys.

Big cuts at the academy, care to share more or is it another blog scenario where, I just have to believe you despite a lack of any evidence to go with?

Nobody would argue that long term we need a new ownership, but lots of people seem to forget that this is not a situation that will be changed by anything but MONEY!

This aloof "information is power" malarkey just makes me cringe. Nothing has made a difference to the owners so far. We all know that if we want them to leave, we'd need to give them their money back.

Every other avenue, smoking guns, protest, making owners look stupid in public etc - all like water to a ducks back.

God you are hard work! Did that interview with Cheston about big cuts to the wage bill completely pass you by? Glen's info about big cuts at Brockhall are on top.

The  guy whose 2 goals got us a precious point at Fulham last night has since announced his decision to return to Wednesday next season. Merely one of the loanees we won't keep and they are our best players!

Every year we get weaker and weaker under Venkys. Nearly 7 years it's been going on and you have learned nothing.

We will never prosper while Venkys remain. Never, there is no cause for optimism. None.

The day we avoid relegation is the same day that the next relegation struggle begins.

He was, he is. I'm sure Glen has the same opinion of Shaw as we all have.

Rather than total hypocrisy, it's total dedication to putting the club before personal feelings.

You've got the bigger picture Mike, Rev has not.

I know. The point is, having something good to say; for example "Tony is a good appointment" is not "Stockholm syndrome".

Grow up Gav. You know as well as I do that they have never given a response to the "smoking guns" nor did they even take on the two Ian's offers.

Money would talk to them at a guess. If you think that sort of claim is tantamount to claiming I influenced substitutions, then I pity you.

Surely we need to carry on investing in the academy to maintain level 1 status?

Glen, can you say what cuts are being made there? Thanks in advance

there is no cause for optimism.

Is Cheston in the loop? IMO, Cheston is yes man. Simple has.

I cannot believe Venkys have made a decision on a budget so early. This would be first. They tend to be made in June/July then changed again in August.

What cuts are being to academy?

On the wage bill, will it be cut? Quite possible. But our wage bill has been massive high and we still never even manage to even get into the top 6. We have massive overpaid on players wages for 4 years in this league. We need players who want to play here and for the manager. Not here for a pay day.

Dont we still have 1 of the top 8 highest wage bill in the league? Its pathetic tbh. Look at Preston wage bill which I believe is in the bottom 6 but under a good manager and clever scouting and transfers are top 8/9. Derby have around 8th higher wage last season according to Jim White show on talksport.

Rovers need to stop overpaying on wages and start being clever in scouting players who are good players and who we can develop and make better players.

The fault of this poor management is the owners, board, managers and agents. But not the fans who have support their club they loved through this time and deserve much better!!!

And yes I'm optimism under Mowbray. He has done very good so far. Been a breath of fresh air and very open and honest!

I don't think any Rovers fan wants Shaw to get another penny out of Rovers, i dont even think even if Glen helps his case he would give us incriminating evidence, he's a user,  if i were Glen i would want assurances and at least some documented evidence to incriminate the Venkys and the shadow agents, if not let the weasel make a idiot of himself.

Look at Preston as an example. Good management, scouting and spotting gems. So why cant we be like that. Barnsley havent spent millions either

It won't take much to be better. We immediately improved after Coyle left.

Very true

Mowbray has improved us alot. More organised. Has a plan A and B. And all this without much time of the training field. So what is Coyle excuse then. Hasnt got one. He is just poor.  He Got fans on side straight away.

And after king rat left

And after Appleton left

And after Berg left

And after Bowyer left

But we'll never improve and continue to decline until the owners have left, thats the bottom line sadly.

We all know how this is going to pan out in the summer we've been here before

TM is doing a great job getting that bit more out of the squad and has a plan B and plan c with his successful substitutes but will he carry on getting the hand he's dealt ie more cuts ... C'mom TM is a manager he'll want to manage not coach

Chaddy

I don't think our budget will be as high as you think it is in respect of those who are still playing for the Club. The ones who play here now are cheap loans. low cost freebies .I think the massive budget is not exactly a budget but more of a legacy of what we got stuck with by signing crap on massive 4 year contracts that w ened up paying to leave and squandering money on Portugese waiters. The costs of people like Etuhu, Murphy, Orr and some of the managerial severance packages will all be in the accounts for lat year.

Venkys have stopped all that and this season gave Coyle virtually nothing to spend and what you now see is a low cost squad with no sell on value and struggling to stay up this season.

So the point I am making is that we don't now have a budget ( I don't think Venkys understand what a budget is) we are just in a cycle of constant downsizing and dumbing down.

So please don't get excited at what comes next  because TM is going to have the same issues Coyle had when we get to August.

I alos heard that they needed to spend a significant sum on Academy facilities before end of march to maintain cat 1 status and they have nt done it. Nor have they offered the next crop of young pro's any deals yet and the risk is we lose all our best young kids. I think that is what Glen is saying and we ought not to be blinded by an upturn in results as welcome as that is. This Club is knackered as long as Venkys are the owners --FACT !!!

We didn't improve after Bowyer left. Lambert was a let down and Coyle was hopeless.

Championship position wise we actually dis-improved after King rat left, if you want to be pedantic.

Obviously still a lot not right off the field and behind the scenes, but a good, experienced manager is something we have not had since Allardyce left. I believe it will go a long way to helping us move up the table , in spite of the other issues.
