We didn't improve after Bowyer left. Lambert was a let down and Coyle was hopeless.

Championship position wise we actually dis-improved after King rat left, if you want to be pedantic.

Obviously still a lot not right off the field and behind the scenes, but a good, experienced manager is something we have not had since Allardyce left. I believe it will go a long way to helping us move up the table , in spite of the other issues.

Lambert and Coyle both have experience in abundance, in fact Lambert more than TM if I wanted to be pedantic.

I love you're optimism, no idea where it comes from, but you'll soon be towing the BRFCC party line, it just takes some a little longer to get it.

Owners out, or continuing decline.

Big cuts at the academy, care to share more or is it another blog scenario where, I just have to believe you despite a lack of any evidence to go with?

Nobody would argue that long term we need a new ownership, but lots of people seem to forget that this is not a situation that will be changed by anything but MONEY!

This aloof "information is power" malarkey just makes me cringe. Nothing has made a difference to the owners so far. We all know that if we want them to leave, we'd need to give them their money back.

Every other avenue, smoking guns, protest, making owners look stupid in public etc - all like water to a ducks back.

Ok I attended with another good rovers fan this morning. Despite calling at 9am and being assured what room number it was being heard in it was on arrival denounced as being "settled" late afternoon/evening yesterday.

Continued negativity and conspiracy in every single thread?

Pointless in my opinion. If Venkys decide to sell up, fantastic. Hopefully we get owners who know something about football. Until then I will focus on whatever positives there are with my team. Bitching about things ad nauseum on a  message board isn't going to make them sell up. Sometimes you need to look forward.

Look at Preston as an example. Good management, scouting and spotting gems. So why cant we be like that. Barnsley havent spent millions either

No surprise there

We will never have that structure that is being built at North End nor the one Burnley built to give them a platform to get to what they are now. We had it all put in place decades ago and it has been ripped to shreds in 6 years and that will continue because of the need to cut costs. The people who run those clubs have it's best interests a heart and crave success. Those in office at Ewood are only concerned with a wage and their own career progression courting the eye of the absent.

Just look at who owns those clubs then look at us, it isn't happening best we can hope for is a minor improvement that allows water treading whilst the downscale continues. The Indians just want minimum fuss and expense whilst they use the club for other purposes and the agent brotherhood just wants it's commission.

Flag this post up in 12 months and prove me wrong :o

You've only been on here for a few weeks so I'm not sure you're qualified enough to be making such sweeping statements.

This site has always been the best Rovers messageboard on the net and is probably why you've found your way here, and is in no way negative and full of conspiracy on every thread, you want to try taking time to read the threads instead trying to break the posting record with respect. Some really good debate to be had and not all "Continued negativity and conspiracy "

But i will concede that it may well seem like we're a bunch of moaning swines until you scratch the surface, and who can blame us really with a football club thats been destroyed, robbed and plundered by that fat spiv and his mates, a town thats had its heart ripped out and a fractured an base brought to its knees by 3 thick rats from under a rock somewhere in Pune.

I'm all for being positive about the future, but like the vast majority of Rovers supporters we're struggling with that one, because how bright can the future be under Venkys? quite simply we have no future under Venkys which ever way you slice it, in my opinion of course.

Exactly!

We would be setting up for next season under normal circumstances regardless of which division we are in. Under the V's we are hamstrung by apathy, neglect and stupidity so nothing will happen for months and by that time we will be so far behind other clubs again the same thing will happen.

Unless there is a sea (Ocean) charge this disfunctional club will limp from disaster to disaster season on season, so yes the Venky's must go for us to start again as a professionally run club.

I don't think our budget will be as high as you think it is in respect of those who are still playing for the Club. The ones who play here now are cheap loans. low cost freebies .I think the massive budget is not exactly a budget but more of a legacy of what we got stuck with by signing crap on massive 4 year contracts that w ened up paying to leave and squandering money on Portugese waiters. The costs of people like Etuhu, Murphy, Orr and some of the managerial severance packages will all be in the accounts for lat year.

Venkys have stopped all that and this season gave Coyle virtually nothing to spend and what you now see is a low cost squad with no sell on value and struggling to stay up this season.

So the point I am making is that we don't now have a budget ( I don't think Venkys understand what a budget is) we are just in a cycle of constant downsizing and dumbing down.

So please don't get excited at what comes next  because TM is going to have the same issues Coyle had when we get to August.

I alos heard that they needed to spend a significant sum on Academy facilities before end of march to maintain cat 1 status and they have nt done it. Nor have they offered the next crop of young pro's any deals yet and the risk is we lose all our best young kids. I think that is what Glen is saying and we ought not to be blinded by an upturn in results as welcome as that is. This Club is knackered as long as Venkys are the owners --FACT !!!

Havent Rankin-Costello and Doyle sign pro deals recently?

Didnt we get Cat 1 Academy status last summer and arent they offered on a 3 year basis?

You are right Venkys dont have a club what a budget is.

I was told that Kinder wants to sign 5 young lads up and Senior has blocked it saying he wants to see them play .So our head of academy has virtually lived with these lads for 2-3 yrs and Swiss Tony wants to make the decision by watching them once !! hes had virtually 3 months to do that so presumably he will sign them as long as they sign up with his Mrs (Agent).

The Cat 1 status is subject to things being done according to a plan that the authorities specify and if you don't do them they can kick you out. And we all know what Venkys think of ''plans'' don't we.?? They don't know the meaning of the word so cock up around the corner I am told to expect.

By the way  , Senior has gone very quiet (thankfully) but no doubt he will be preparing his ''I saved the Club from relegation speech''  on the back of recent results.

I hate the lot of it. Stomach churning tosspots the lot of 'em. I genuiunely don't think I can bring myself to sign up for another season of this bullsh1t management of our Club.

I'm with you as regards the owners. Things will only continue to get worse under them.

The reason I'm quoting your post though is because of the first line. I've been a member here for a few years but never posted on here. I posted on the official messageboard but it's gone now and it's really just another show of how our club is falling down around us.

Bigdog also posted on there for a few years up until it died so I think it's unfair to attack for being new to this messageboard.

This messageboard has improved a lot imo. A couple of years ago I wasn't a fan and decided not to visit the site but it's improved a great deal and when the other place went missing I viewed all the other sites and decided after reading many threads that this was the place for me. I should have kept checking in over the years because I'd probably have started posting here a lot sooner if I had.

More money needlessly sucked out of next year's operating budget.

like 1.7m interest for parent company and BRFC loans? + mortgaged season tickets at 1.8million? yep 40% of next year's operating turnover.

It's Shaw's payout that will kill us though.

I'm sure everyone that reads this post has nothing but the utmost respect for you giving the site another chance, we need new blood, thanks for that.

By your own admission you 'wasn't a fan and decided not to visit' but now see fit to support bigdog.....and why not I say.

So whilst very admirable to run to the defense of bigdog, he seems to have many supporters with under than 50 posts, we need to move on, what are your thoughts on the thread you've posted on?

Depends on how it's paid.

I doubt the court looked at any continuation page of a staged payout, rather VHPL/RAO family had to dig into there own pockets directly. Rovers had less than 235k in the bank in the last accounts.

You're being argumentative for the sake of it. It seems to be widely accepted that our budget for next year will be relatively minimal so any unnecessary or avoidable expense is unhelpful.

Still. If you'd rather restock Derek's wine Cellar than us buy a player, have a vital piece of equipment or a couple of extra members of staff then I'm glad Team Shaw" is happy.

Are you seriously supporting that post?

I agree on the fact he seems to give this site another go and yes it's far improved from the "Nickoteen" era which you probably remember too.

Appreciate your concerned about the level of newbies posting but personally it's good, allot of usernames are oldies from the old 606 board etc. Your not going to have say 50 sign up and all agree with each other, you'll occasionally get a Big Dogg etc.
