I was saying earlier today how we hadn't heard anything from Shaw for months and months. Certainly couldn't see this one coming though.

Far too much of a coincidence that he's gone the day after Venkys boy wonder Rhodes has left and the transfer window has slammed shut.

There were rumours around the time Lambert came in that Shaw was close to the exit after being completely out of the loop during the managerial change.

We can dream of a John Williams or Tom Finn return but I expect they would want autonomy whereas Venkys idea of an MD appears to be a pen pusher who merely fills in the paperwork.

I'd take anyone with any sort of respectability in football.

To be fair ... The end of the January window would be an opportune time for a change at the top. Up until yesterday he would have been required in his official capacity if any deals needed to be rubber stamped. Today onwards will be relatively quiet.

Myers has already combined his role of communications director with commercial director following Dave Biggar's departure. I'm sure one man can't do all the jobs.
