VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Silent Bob would be as bad as Shaw. We need someone from outside and someone who knows football. Well I only said temporarily... Coar got a lot of criticism (to conveniently avoid criticising Jack really) when stuff went wrong like Shearer being sold and Eriksson.

Reedy You're A Star Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Coar was also on the FA when we were being raped from the inside out by JA and Kean yet said and did nothing to help. He should be out on his ear with Derek.
Exiled in Toronto Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 To be fair ... The end of the January window would be an opportune time for a change at the top. Up until yesterday he would have been required in his official capacity if any deals needed to be rubber stamped. Today onwards will be relatively quiet. That's my reading, most sensible time to bin him.
VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Coar was also on the FA when we were being raped from the inside out by JA and Kean yet said and did nothing to help. He should be out on his ear with Derek. Presumably he still is in a role at the FA? Not sure what he gets from that except free FA Cup final tickets and he could probably afford them himself. I do wonder if Coar is just bitter about the criticism he used to get which is why he seemingly hasn't done anything. Coar for instance was the one who came out of Ewood when Shearer left and read a statement to a crowd of angry fans. Plus nobody was to blame for Eriksson's pathetic actions. Someone said he wrote an email that Venkys know nothing about football and replied "I hear you" to one protesting fan. Read press cuttings in the library few years ago. Seem to recall plans were already in transition to replace Fox as chairman with Coar before he died. So presumably Fox was fine with it (not that he would have had a choice) and Jack clearly thought he was suitable. Nobody has been at this club longer than he has though the oldest ex chairman would be Bancroft (stripped of presidency years ago) I guess? Keith Lee is current president isn't he ex director?
Bucksrover Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I like to think Lambert flagged up that Shaw is an absolute joke. A proper manager pointing out that shaw needs to go after clearing out the likes of koita and petshi?!
Iceman Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Oh gosh, please don't let this end up like the manager situation we had with Kean. Replace dumb with dumberer
Iceman Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 No, but he's gone, fo shawHopefully he is on a boat and gone off shaw
VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Campaign to bring back Williams and Finn? Tired of hearing about Saint John he isn't the only guy capable of running BRFC. Need someone younger anyway.
gumboots Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Shouldn't there be a comma after " Kean did " ? Just saying.yes. I was just typing fast and being lazy. I'm trying to play empire 4 kingdoms at the same time and was busy attacking while reading this!

chor808 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Great news. This hatchet man seems okay to me. Let's see who arrives.
tomphil Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I can't believe I sat there all day and night yesterday glued to the laptop just waiting for the bad news I knew was coming. Tonight I work and miss the good news breaking !! I'm going to enjoy catching up on this thread Kean you Preston parrot.
den Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Apparently Lambert told Venkys that he was 100% sure we would be better without him.
koi Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Just out of interest, what is John doing these days?
VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Just out of interest, what is John doing these days? Last I heard he was running something to do with referees. Did his wife pass away? Edit-Yes she did thought I had read something. Wasn't sure because since I haven't heard about the referee thing for ages wondered if he was busy looking after her plus he's over 60. Wasn't too surprised to hear she was ill. When I spoke to Williams few years ago he took a phone call at one point as his wife was in hospital. Did send a few emails after that meeting none were particularly critical as I toned down my criticism of him after that. Other than what may have been the last one when he didn't appoint Mancini over BFS. Said I would hold him responsible if the decision got the club relegated lol (didn't actually think Rovers would be relegated that season with BFS it was more anger over Mancini who's a better manager and better image)
Mercer Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 This is not a surprise. It's likely to be the first of a few departures - there will be some squealing! I posted around the middle of November under 'New Manager' that I thought big changes were planned over coming weeks. I think the terms cleansing and cost cutting could be used!
tomphil Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Sad thing is it's another round of paying people off after a big outward transfer, eating into the money.
Guest Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I posted around the middle of November under 'New Manager' that I thought big changes were planned over coming weeks. Not coming months?
koi Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Looks like he went back to City in 2014, can't find anything after that.
VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Looks like he went back to City in 2014, can't find anything after that. I've seen nothing other than he was linked to Southampton and he gave a quote to someone about Allardyce. Wouldn't any non disclosure have run out by now? Haven't heard anything about a return to City (and I should know as supposedly I've been practically living at the Etihad for past few years) and think he left that position because of his wife's illness.
tomphil Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Reading a Brighton forum after we'd played there last season and a few were chatting amongst themselves about Williams. Apparently he'd been at their table in a corporate lounge as a guest, something to do with the referees association. They said he was clearly aghast at what had gone on at Rovers. They could do worse than call on him for advice, maybe they have who knows but he's probably past coming back now anyway.
