VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Reading a Brighton forum after we'd played there last season and a few were chatting amongst themselves about Williams. Apparently he'd been at their table in a corporate lounge as a guest, something to do with the referees association. They said he was clearly aghast at what had gone on at Rovers. They could do worse than call on him for advice, maybe they have who knows but he's probably past coming back now anyway. Well Finn has been in the stadium (perhaps was something with the community trust) but Venkys were probably not involved. Do you have that forum link?

Bucksrover Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Sad thing is it's another round of paying people off after a big outward transfer, eating into the money. With Shaw on 170k + a year, it's a great cost cutting exercise, even if it costs a bit now
tomphil Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Well Finn has been in the stadium (perhaps was something with the community trust) but Venkys were probably not involved. Do you have that forum link? No, I think it was Seagulls chat. The other one is North Stand chat.
blondie Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 The way things have been moving over the last few months, suggest this is the last of the recommendations from the Indian advisor.Successor most probably lined up.
roverandout Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 It probably says what it is, he probably had other interests, no conspiracy theories.
tomphil Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 With Shaw on 170k + a year, it's a great cost cutting exercise, even if it costs a bit now Maybe he was only hanging around until he'd finally got Rhodes through the door. No interests to protect now so perhaps he did indeed walk, with his % of course.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 How will he afford those knock off Burtons sweaters now?
A cup of beans Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Celebrating tonight. The incompetent ass has finally been potted. How he remained in command for so long is another story. The coincidential timing leads to conspiracy theories, which I'll also revell in. If this is on the recommendation of 'The Executioner', he has my sincere gratitude.
Cherry Blue Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 It probably says what it is, he probably had other interests, no conspiracy theories. The speed of his successor and whoever that turns out to be may give us a clue.
VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 onlyonejackwalker will be thrilled with this more than anyone. Absolutely scathing with his firsthand knowledge of Shaw.
47er Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Rhodes' departure one day, Shaw the next. Surely, the two events are connected? Has Madame wielded the axe because he sold Rhodes on the cheap, or even against her wishes? Or was he going anyway? So many questions, but where are the LET reporters from the good old days to provide the answers? One thing is certain - Shaw hasn't left because he's too busy fixing shelves as the PR piece claims - he's been given the boot. Surely selling Rhodes and potting Shaw are part of the same rebuilding process?
Mercer Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Think we are about to see the domino effect........... We saw this when Bowyer and his four stooges were fired. Seems to be a ruthlessness about Pasha - new broom sweeps clean. Feels like V's determined they wont be burnt again - trust and confidence key watchwords now.
chaddyrovers Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 You expect Ian Slivester and Alan Myers do leave aswell Mercerman?
Teacup Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 People still have not realised that Venkys have no love for our club? It is but an asset to them, one they really don't want to have, have no idea how to run and have no intention to fund properly. It is pissing money out of all the cracks and they cannot stop it, the last thing they want to do is spend more money trying to fix it. They won't be happy nor stop messing with all aspects of the club until the figures start breaking even, if you think that means getting us promotions or hiring the right people, then sadly you are wrong. They don't care where we end up, they don't understand football and never will. Their intentions are to re-build the club from the ground up as a business that makes a profit, that is not how football works, so we are screwed until we get new owners. That is the obvious truth that is staring us all in the face. Stop looking for hidden meanings in everything and just face reality - Venkys haven't funded us properly from the outset and after all these years they are still scrimping and saving... Sacking/Forcing the MD out, right after the transfer window closes.. ridiculously callous if you ask me.
VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 In the LT updated article states that staff had no indication Shaw was leaving. Backs up the post on here earlier by someone who was a meeting with Shaw earlier today. Shaw was unavailable for comment and Rovers wouldn't comment on a replacement. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/14248375.UPDATED__Managing_director_Derek_Shaw_leaves_Blackburn_Rovers/
Stuart Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Think we are about to see the domino effect...........Why, who's next? Or who should be?

VinjayV4 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Confirms it is a sacking. Wheelock says it came as a surprise tonight. Not sure if that means the timing or a total unexpected surprise. One of the comments on LT... my thoughts tonight are with leavers across the road Shaw was a loyal customer and profits will be down.
Pedro Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I wonder if something cropped up with the little delay in Rhodes' negotiations?
Mercer Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Very often when an organisation decides to 'move someone on', the person concerned simply does not see it coming. Have found that when all appears quiet in an organisation, that's when the real scheming is taking place. I think things have been 'simmering' since the time of the Burnley match in late October.
bluebruce Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Confirms it is a sacking. Good. With someone like Shaw it should never come down to them deciding they're the one that has had enough. It always rankles that Kean jumped instead of being pushed. But much like then, the main thing is the bugger is gone! A decent, experienced man to manage at board level and complement the experienced manager (still can't believe we can say that now) is huge progression from where we were. Just hope we get the right man in.
Darwen Rover 007 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Dear Mr Williams, It's taken a while for us to learn our cock ups, but we are learning... Please come back and help us get back to where we belong The Venkys
