So far as I am concerned, the only reason he would be back at Ewood would be to apprehended by the plod....

Working at Boro.

I wonder if it's a coincidence that they are going well, recruiting players and spending money yet not falling foul of the FFP ?

Do any other Championship clubs operate with no chairman and a part-time MD?

Maybe Venkys have woken up to the fact that this structure is not going to ever bring success.

They might have asked Shaw if he could do it full time, but he said he couldn't, so they are going to bring someone else in.

A plausible explanation, albeit far too sensible for the lunatics in Pune.

Happy days.

On the pitch it's not quite clicked yet (ok it's looking rather shaky) but off the pitch we are slowly recovering. Getting rid of incompetents and replacing with quality.

Forest have operated without a CEO/MD for a while. After the takeover their CEO quit, then Falkner from Villa went in for a while but he resigned and they've been working without one since. Although at least their owner takes more of a hands on role himself and goes to games.

Glad this guy's been potted. The last from the Kean era departs. Some have said he's done a decent job considering the circumstances while others have him down as an utter buffoon. Personally, I'm just glad I won't have to see his trademark "I earn 170k doing nothing but sit on my arse" smile on the website no more.

Time will tell, but if he lands up in another football job soon, then we can rest assured that he was sacked.

Terms of payouts etc sometimes prevent them from doing this, gardening leave I think they call it.

Either way, it definitely wasn't for reasons mentioned. Sacked or walking away, he is somebody that got paid for messing up, without any consequences and that was unacceptable. Better late than never I suppose

Then again he could trap up at dungdale again,

I bet the nobbers are crapping it

I'm sure he's signed a NDA so we probably won't hear anything from him for a while. As for people suggesting Shaw sold Rhodes against the owners wishes that seems rather ridiculous. Surely that would completely invalidate the transfer? As for appointing a figurehead as chairman its a bit surprising they haven't appointed someone high profile. Maradona for instance wasn't just linked to the managers position but they haven't exactly been "celebrity chasers" when it comes to appointments. Of course the club has a president but Keith Lee isn't exactly high profile and younger fans probably wouldn't have heard of him. Effectively its a completely meaningless role with no power whatsoever. It does seem that the title will still be managing director. Personally I would bring in a chairman (whether a big name or not) and make big changes to the "President" position with a bigger name and possibly actual day to day authority. Though maybe it would be pointless without getting promotion first.

Few more notes on Suhail Pasha. It seems he might have had a sports background after all as he worked for Kentaro. Considering his reported impact thus far that probably isn't anything to worry about. Presumably that's how he and Venkys became close and he seems to have a "high up" position. Suggestions he's based in South Africa (though he's spent substantial time at Ewood) for Venky's biscuits distribution.

Kamy said Williams is still working for the referees association. Williams does have a NDA which hasn't run out. Even if it had Kamy says he wouldn't speak out and there's no chance of Williams returning. Or for that matter Venkys asking him.
