On the small town thing - I couldn't really say what constitutes small or large but what I do know is when people in Scotland realise that Blackburn isn't much bigger than East Kilbride, they are genuinely shocked. They expect it to be circa 300,000 - 400,000 in size, given the success of its football team.

Its just not true though (the "small" bit) and that's the issue. I mentioned the City Challenge scheme years ago in response.

You only have 12 posts presumably we have crossed paths elsewhere?

Absolutely on FUP. I proposed that myself (when I could still PM) and that it could have been introduced specifically for the Forest game. Did question whether it might be confiscated though as the League (it probably wouldn't be on UEFA's radar as a Championship club) could complain to the club. If there had been a FUP flag (and no previous flag of Jack being brought out of storage) I probably would have contributed. I don't mind individual flags for certain players but that would just cause disagreements over who's been left out. Jack obviously is the undisputed first "face on a flag" choice for all fans.

Yes you do. ;)

No I do not. She earns more than me.....and I love her ❤️

We are a small town though, compared to most.

These are the biggest 20 towns... Blackburn is nowhere near making that list, even the 20th has a population of 136,000.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/8705932/Britains-20-biggest-towns.html

We aren't a small town. I'm not saying we're the biggest in the land, but if you were to go to the trouble of listing every settlement in the UK with town status by population Blackburn would be in the top 10%. Compared to places like Oswaldtwistle, Great Harwood, Darwen and Rishton which really are 'small towns'. Accrington, Fleetwood, Morecambe etc. are medium sized towns, Blackburn, Bolton, Huddersfield etc. are big towns.

You've provided a list of the 20 biggest towns, which we are just outside, so that surely puts us among the biggest. Estimates put Blackburn at around 105,000+ at the last census, which if combined with Darwen soon gets up towards 130,000. Any town with that sort of population in the UK is 'large'.

Out of those that have more people, a lot of them don't have football teams, such as Dudley, Warrington etc, whilst others like Walsall, West Bromwich and Stockport can't really be described as stand alone towns these days as they have been consumed by neighbouring cities.

If the criteria of having a cathedral diocese was the only requirement as it was once upon a time then we wouldn't be having this discussion because Blackburn would be a city, which in my opinion it should have been ahead of places like Preston and Brighton.

Well I certainly didn't.

You've been hanging out with the Citeh Massive for too long. The whole thing about singing 'we're just a small town in europe' is how much history and pride this club of OURS has.

We are Rovers, Super Rovers, We are Rovers from the North.

And it was sung with pride!

...but not accuracy. There's nothing wrong with taking pride in things certainly but that's not the point.

I've explained my first reason (which I'm not debating any further needless to say JH Rover and I strongly share that view) and can't be bothered going into other reasons why I didn't sing it.

No explanation needed or asked for.

I would certainly appreciate some pictures of the new flags.

I can't make it tomorrow, plenty of exiled posters will be in the same boat, so if anyone can oblige I'd certainly appreciate it.

Need to get the 'made in Blackburn, destroyed in India' flag up on show.

It beggars belief that there are any fans at all that are pro Venky's.

There is an element of logic in wanting Venky's here for the time being as they continue to pay the bills, but to actually be pro Venky's? It's mind boggling.
