Spalding Rover Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 surely raya must be coming along now, he didn't look to bad at start of season, steele has been dodgy from day 1!

tkturner Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Both goals Steele should be doing better... Sad, we were certainly the better side until they scored, heads have gone now and I expect West Ham to go on and score a couple more... Starting line up is a bit weird for me, people on the bench who clearly would make this a better and stronger side to go after West Ham but I guess the start we had also shows Lambert had a good idea? Cant see us getting a result today now...
Al Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Replacing Robbo with Steele was an insult to an excellent keeper.
Backroom DE. Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 Akpan, JHC. Just pass the ball, don't try and run with it.
Backroom Tom Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 That's really poor by Akpan who's really gone off the boil recently
G Somerset Rover Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Passing the ball accurately is a big ask for Taylor, Conway and Akpan by the looks of things. Akpan does my head in - the guy is terrible and no where near as good as some on here would have you believe. Good run by Taylor there though.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Not many options. Gomes for akpan Perhaps take brown off put hanley at back and stick duffy up top.
Neal Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 He's not a kid anymore so i feel comfortable saying this... Henley is one of the worst full backs i've seen at Rovers and although he's still got a bit of time he wont improve much. Said it a million times that ue needs loaning out.
Backroom DE. Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 That's really poor by Akpan who's really gone off the boil recently Not convinced he was ever on the boil. He was just a breath of fresh air in what had become a stagnant midfield, but technically he's always been extremely poor. He needs to distribute the ball to a more capable player as soon as possible when he wins or receives it.
Al Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Not many options. Gomes for akpan Perhaps take brown off put hanley at back and stick duffy up top. Can't be worse than Brown. At least he can head the ball.
Backroom DE. Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 Well, it could be a lot worse. West Ham have been pretty casual, save for ten minutes or so when they increased their tempo to get in front after we scored.
Backroom Tom Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 Still in it and looked good until Steele - who by default is the best keeper at the club, let one through his hands, since then they've decimated us and the gulf in class is so obvious.
Al Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Picking that team was close to robbery of the paying fans.
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Need some changes. Gomez on and one of Watt or Jackson for Brown.
otto man Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Yes ignore the truth you utter fool 76 possession to our 24 I'd pick my battles carefully were I you. Engage your brain before sticking your mouth in gear. Insulting a member of the backroom team ain't sensible.
koi Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Terrible after we scored. Steele awful. Where's the midfield gone? Why are we letting them pin us so far back.
Backroom Tom Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 The main annoyance is both their goals were our own doing; they haven't threatened too much otherwise
Backroom Tom Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 I'd pick my battles carefully were I you. Engage your brain before sticking your mouth in gear. Insulting a member of the backroom team ain't sensible. I'm insultable don't worry about that
Neal Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I say this every other week too... Steele is absokutely woeful, truely horrid keeper... I cant understand how more of us don't see it!
Husky Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Can't really expect to beat Premier league opposition if your keeper is giving them 2 goals. Apart from that Whum have just had lots of mostly meaningless possession and no chances.
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Have to look for a new keeper in the summer, Steele just makes far too many mistakes. It was also ridiculous to let Moses run that distance and get a shot off, playing a superior team you have to close them down. West Ham playing down to the opposition, you just feel they have another gear or two if they need it. I'd bring on Watt and Gomez and just go for it, nothing to lose and if West Ham get another goal to go 3-1 up you would think that's it anyway. Thought we played solid overall in the first half but we are lacking that extra bit of quality or creative spark that West Ham a Premier League team has.
Backroom Mike E Posted February 21, 2016 Backroom Posted February 21, 2016 Personally think our mixed team has done pretty well! Just a shame that goalie errors have been our undoing. I'm with PL in the 'through or out' camp. Don't want a replay, but dammit I'd love a win. I'd stick Gomez on for Akpan, and look at replacing Conway with a striker.
chaddyrovers Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Steele at fault for the 1st goal but Apkan and Lenihan should have deeper protecting the back 4. Taylor gave away a stupid foul. Rovers were very good in the 1st 20 mins. Still in the game. Would like to Gomez and Watt on in the 2nd half
