Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Good three points there. We looking like a football team again now. Rotherham winning means were still eight points from the drop zone though. Tough game at the weekend, Leeds seem to be doing well recently. If we carry on this run of form we should fancy our chances on Saturday.

Backroom DE. Posted March 8, 2016 Backroom Posted March 8, 2016 Jordan started on the bench, came on 75 mins, not mentioned once on BBC text commentary. £9m well spent... bet there's a few there who are starting to wonder whether they'd made the right decision that Sunday night.
booth Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Not won four in a row at Ewood Park since February 2010 according to BBC. Brum kept 6 clean sheets in last 8 games. Great result.
neophox Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Good win! Enjoy! We will be ready for Leeds on saturday and take 3 points!

About time Ewood became a fortress again. Bowyer had made it far too cosy for teams to come to Ewood Park over the past couple of years, beating the likes of Boro and Birmingham comfortably here suggests that has come to an end.

neophox Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 IF we beat Leeds on saturday we could be 10p off playoffs....with ten games to go....
patrickvalery Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I think this season has the hallmarks of when we just finished outside the playoffs with bowyer. That was a tremendous effort and really, truth be told it should have been the catalyst for a push the following season. I think it's very important for us to finish strongly this year because I'm in no doubt the following season won't be a damp squid (ala Paul merson) as it was under GB.

Nobody feared coming to Ewood in that time. Get stuck into us and the points were there to be taken. Looks like things are changing now.
patrickvalery Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 IF we beat Leeds on saturday we could be 10p off playoffs....with ten games to go.... Well I'm happy to chip in 5p but the rest of you will have to make up the rest.
booth Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 IF we beat Leeds on saturday we could be 10p off playoffs....with ten games to go.... It's such a weird league that it's possible. Just depends on how consistent Rovers can be rather than what the other teams do.
Backroom Tom Posted March 8, 2016 Backroom Posted March 8, 2016 This is light years away from Gary Bowyers Rovers at the moment we are no longer mere participants in a game but now we can control a game. Good things could be ahead if a few things fall into place, see this season out then give him some money to spend.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 It's such a weird league that it's possible. Just depends on how consistent Rovers can be rather than what the other teams do. Those two 1-0 away defeats at Reading and Bolton are going to hurt us now. It's just out of reach I'm afraid.

Good things could be ahead if a few things fall into place, see this season out then give him some money to spend. I think we've learnt how to play games out now. 2-0 up at half time, we would have been hanging on for a 2-2 or a 2-1 win previously.
oldjamfan1 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I love clean sheets! Well done to all concerned, great win tonight!
neophox Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 When looking at games coming up Its none of the top five teams left to play. The hardest game is Ipswich away.
allanncd Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 IF we beat Leeds on saturday we could be 10p off playoffs....with ten games to go.... Calm down! History shows that at least 73 points are required to make the play-offs so would need to win every one of the 10 remaining.
LDRover Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Probably our strongest team. All we need now is Lowe back and we will be rolling on. Thought you had sciatica, not a bang on the head!!
patrickvalery Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Calm down! History shows that at least 73 points are required to make the play-offs so would need to win every one of the 10 remaining. Agree. Strong finish to the season is as much as we can hope for now. But still very important. The times they are a changing.Only since we've brought in Gomez. With his boots of Spanish leather.
Stuart Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Gomez was hero and villain tonight. He is sheer quality and bossed the first half and, as a result, we were brilliant as a team. I've always said it though, even with Bowyer's squad, when we attack teams we do look good. The difference that Lambert has brought is the steel to control a match when on top. This last half a dozen games we have got stronger and stronger and I suspect that superior fitness has a lot to do with that. The petulent rush of blood to Jordi's head at the end of the first half cost us some momentum though and although it was the right decision to bring him off, it did change the complexion of the game and we made it a more even playing field although Big Club didn't take advantage of it. Hanley, Lenihan and Graham were a solid spine in tonight's team, with a real sprinkling of quality around them. Onwards!
tomphil Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Probably our strongest team. All we need now is Lowe back and we will be rolling on. We'll put that down to the strong pain killers your probably on We've been there and done that and now we are finally moving forwards, let's not take a step back......
LWX Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Agree. Strong finish to the season is as much as we can hope for now. But still very important. Only since we've brought in Gomez. With his boots of Spanish leather. Do we stand any chance of getting him on a permanent?
