Depends from which side of town you're coming from. One suggestion would be near where Mill Hill flats use to be....a quick 8 min dash would see you on the ground.

I work near Observatory pub.I usually park there coming from home but too much of a trek to park there.

royal close new houses where hospital was is about 10 mins from ground free and not currently residents only

Good shout, I'll try and find something round there if there's nothing near Manxman,

Well I didn't notice!

Nor did I Den! But there was an interview with them a couple of day's later,( probably in Mondays LET--who else really!) and they apologised for having to mime cos of "equipment failure"!

Now I can remember that clear as day and I think it was v Villa and I'm pretty sure there were 15000+ on and it was a miserable rainy day. But ask me to remember the name of someone I was introduced to last week and I wouldn't have a clue!

Back page headlines of today's telegraph.

Fortress Ewood

Boss wants single home end to improve atmosphere.

Paul Lambert has a massive job to do in improving the playing side of the football club sufficiently enough to mount a promotion challenge and also persuading those idiots in Pune to back him financially.

What Paul shouldn't really be concerning himself with is the support an its impact on match days, that will only end in tears in my opinion. He wanted a good response from the public to the Wham FA CUP game and then played a weakened side, so its a good job the fans never took his advice on that one! the moans and groans will still be being heard now!

Leave the support alone would be my advice, we know how to support the club, we've been doing it since 1875, just give us something to support and shout about and we'll do the rest.

I thought they sounded good ! It was Villa I think. A really cold day, I seem to remember it snowing later on. We played brilliantly and wiped the floor with a poor Villa side. Gordon Lee was playing for Villa that day.

Sat 25 th Jan 1965.

Else.

Newton, Joyce.

Clayton, England, McGrath.

Ferguson, McEvoy, Byrom, Douglas, Harrison.

Byrom 3 , McEvoy 2. In front of a crowd of 18,292. I was playing myself then and this was one of the few Saturday games I made it to that season.

Something in the bowels of my mind (that I have) says that I was there for this game..... having had to give the game up (temporarily) due to injury.

Whilst I agree in some ways I think it needs someone like Lambert to bring the fan base back together, the reason for this is that the majority of the fans share a common feeling of positivity and leadership towards him. Whilst I agree his primary interest should be on football I don't really understand why you're questioning his stance on this because whilst I agree with your first point I totally disagree with your final point... Rovers fans don't know how to support their club anymore, after all that has happened the fan base has split and disbanded and I feel Lambert is EXACTLY the right person to bring it back together. You have to remember that the young generation being brought up in this period will be influenced by what they experience now and what they're experiencing now is @#/? poor. The stadium is flat, fans sit apart from one another and because of this the atmosphere has suffered. Whilst some fans may not be too bothered I for one am gutted at the support we now have, yes better players and performances on the pitch will help and do matter but what matters to me is feeling part of something and part of a community which I'm proud of which at the moment is the polar opposite for me. If there are supporters that want to have space and relax and join the game then fair enough, there are plenty of seats and space to do that BUT for those that want to make a racket, wave flags, jump up and down, sing songs etc... It should be done in front of the home end. I would be nice for once that we become an innovative club, show the rest how its done and be different from the rest of the crap support in this league. We've been through some tough times but I for one want/need a fresh start at Ewood and this would be a great way to re-invigorate the match day experience.

I think you're doing the support a disservice by claiming they don't know how to support the club anymore, in fact I'd go as far as to say that's complete bunkum.

Some of the best atmospheres at Ewood have been with Rovers fans on both ends of the ground in my opinion, but like I said in my previous post, if we see success and decent football on the pitch that transmits to the stands, it's always been the case and no amount of 'manufactured' singing and flag waving areas will ever change that, we're not Liverpool on European nights, nor do we want to be either.
