BlueMonday Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 This is one where everyone can do their bit and get down there and just enjoy it for once. We should be safe so leave the negatives and looking for scapegoats at the door and try and get back to just enjoying supporting the team regardless. Bring a friend, family member, lapsed supporter and make a day of it and lets show this team, manager etc what we are all about, Blackburn Rovers FC. Thats what Ill be doing.

J*B Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 http://mobile.rovers.co.uk//news/article/blackburn-rovers-huddersfield-town-3014116.aspx Club encouraging both ends to dress in colours and be loud and proud. Even questioning which end can be the loudest - great to see. Let's hope for a good atmosphere and a good crowd - the prices are brilliant. Would it have been too much to ask for, for them to put a link to the flag donation page on there?
Lancaster Rover Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I think the club should be applauded for supporting the flag initiative, slowly but surely some positive steps are being made in bringing the administrative functions, the team and fanbase closer together. Baby steps they might be but encouraging to see nonetheless.
VinjayV4 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Guess that's not a pricing mistake in the Riverside then...
Ben-2000 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 The special offer applies behind the goals only. All other prices are Category B.
JHRover Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 How many additional tickets do the club need to sell to achieve their objective and completely fill the Blackburn Lower and Darwen End quarter? Blackburn End Lower holds about 5,000 whilst the Darwen End quarter will be about 2,000. Take off the existing season ticket holders in those areas (3,500ish?) and 'all' that needs shifting to pack those areas is for another 3,000 to 3,500 people to turn up and buy a ticket for £5-10, which is the cheapest ticket price in the top 4 divisions. No excuses whatsoever for there not to be at least 2 or 3 thousand more 'disillusioned' people to turn up for this one and show the club that if they make efforts like these then the people will come. If the crowd does not increase by that number then nobody can complain if the club doesn't offer cheap tickets ever again.
Ben-2000 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 There are close to 1,000 ST holders in the Darwen End. BBE Lower I'd say 3,000 so to fill those sections I would say 3,000 walk-on's. Should be achievable at those prices!

Maybe a tad optimistic to get another 3k on, people are armed to the teeth with excuses, but certainly if it's not half that then it's grimm. A better match to experiment with the BBE would have been v North End if they could have found a way of packing it without having to make it cheap for the visitors in the other end. However this is still a good effort and should be applauded and SUPPORTED. I trust the Hudds fans are being charged the normal price otherwise it'll backfire a bit. They always bring a few across to their credit and they are on a bit of a bounce with announcing their ultra cheap ST's next season so we don't want them taking over !
barry_ Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 it's worth pointing out that the Darwen End will have less in due to the unreserved seating (if memory serves me right it's 10%?).
Pedro Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Easy put a winning team together. It's far easier to sell tickets for a winning team, but then if the policy is to keep pUlling in £10m plus every transfer window, your going to find iT very difficult to achieve a winning team. Strange, I thought our recent record showed an upturn in results since the last £10m was brought in. I agree that results will get bums on seats but I think you'd struggle to make a winning team by employing unworthy managers who waste money on untalented players or ones without a winning mentality. Hopefully, that's now finally dawned on people.
bubblerrovers Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Can't someone see if the club would allow buckets for donations around the ground, surely a few thousand would be raised easy and enough cash for flags to fill the ground
Ben-2000 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 it's worth pointing out that the Darwen End will have less in due to the unreserved seating (if memory serves me right it's 10%?). Yes, infact the Darwen End would quite often 'sell out' in the PL days. It just would not appear that way as 250 seats had to remain unsold.

Sorry mr Lambart but I shan't be wearing rovers stuff until venkys go . I shall be in Broncos gear .#venkysout
JBiz Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Sorry mr Lambart but I shan't be wearing rovers stuff until venkys go . I shall be in Broncos gear . #venkysout Unbelievable Jeff, take a boo son for that one. First, it's Lambert.. Second this is a good idea and nice to hear them reacting to the flag fund, thirdly it's another discounted game. Sounds like another good idea to me.
ABBEY Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Well you can boo all you want I don't give a crap what you think . I ain't buying anything extra that lines the venkys pockets. I stand my principles . I used to spend hundreds of pounds in there but I I'll buy my ticket and that's it . I won't buy shirts , hoodies , beer or bovril until they've gone . So stick your boo up your arse .
JBiz Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Yet you'd probably blast them even more so if they don't invest in the summer! Which you'd be quite right to. This thread isn't the Venkys out thread so I'll remind you what the point of my post was, and the one previous which you quoted. It's a good gesture. I find it hard to see a negative. I'm not suprised you do. If the club makes more correct decisions on the pitch, these "engagement" strategys can only help bring back what we had. Surely the scenario we all want is BRFC in the top flight, regardless of who the owner is?
ABBEY Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I'd settle for conference football if it means getting them turds out . I ain't a premier league snob .
JBiz Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I cannot fathom that logic. You watch a team to feel comfortable about who pays the bills? I personally love rovers because of a mixture of things, more than just the success side. That said, I want to see us be THE BEST we can be, dropping down divisions at a cost of this, just to satisfy ones hatred is lunacy. No love lost for the idiots in India, but I'm not letting the hatred manifest into the very definition of "cutting ones nose off to spite ones face", pursuing a revenge which would could even put the club completely out of business.
ABBEY Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 And your point is ? Look I don't need gimmicks to be loud , it may float your boat but not mine .
JBiz Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 My point is quite clear, however you seem to make the same point about everything..... They've changed the bovril recipe "Venkys out!.."
ABBEY Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Get a grip man . Bovril recipe ? More brfcs word twisting
JBiz Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Get a grip man . Bovril recipe ? More brfcs word twisting Not twisting your words at all abbey. I still stand by the point that I cannot fathom your outlook. I still stand by the point also that this is a good deal by the club, I love that fact they are getting on board with the flags to some extent, and it's hard to complain when the seats are cheap considering the atmosphere these days is struggling. The bovril one is just an extreme analogy. If you literally thought I meant you'd whinge about Venkys if the bovril tasted different.. Then I'm probably wasting my time replying.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Regarding the original post and Lambert's suggestion, I totally agree with him. The concept of 2 singing ends at Ewood is about as ambitious as Jack thinking we could justify a 30,000 ground. Basically both are only feasible when we're a top 10 PL club who still charges peanuts for tickets. Any deviation from that situation and the 2 singing ends go from a blessing to a curse. Instead of having atmosphere in both ends, for a good while now we've had it in neither. As a consistent Darwen Ender I say shut it to home fans and lets get the Blackburn End back to its former glory as a respectable singing end. Keep the drummer to prevent the kids and those unable to sing in time from speeding songs up, get some flags/scarf waving going and hey presto, got an atmosphere back. And nothing could be more important for a play-off push next season than a good atmosphere helping to create a strong home record. Plus singing shuts the moaners up (probably the best thing about it!).
