Great commitment and effort from the young lads tonight could have had a draw but WOW that Chelsea team was something else, so full credit to all the young Rovers tonight and a special mention to Tre Pemberton when he came on how many times did they drop him.

Thought Chelsea's number 10 Kyle Scott was something else along with his team mates 6 Sammut and 8 Ali but I couldn't see a weakness in their team.

Just hope Scott Wharton is OK.

Roll in the second leg still all to play for.

Last minute decision to go, but enjoyable game. First 20 we where marginally on top but couldn't create anything. Then they took control, esp their no 10 who was superb, and we did well not to give them too many chances.

Second half started the same, but a couple of subs, and them taking the no 10 off really gave us the impetus. Thought we where a bit unlucky not to get a goal in the last 20, but they defended well. In that middle period they where amongst the best teams Ive seen on Ewood this season.

From Rovers right-back and 2 central midfielders did well, didn't see a lot in the others bar a bit of grit and determination.

That's a really poor post. Dyslexia is no excuse.

Really enjoyed tonight game.

Thought we had loads of effort and desire.

Was impressed by Hardcastle.

Pemberton was tricky and skillful.

Mansell should have scored tonight. Had 2 great chances.

What did Hardcastle do to so impress ?

Blimey Jal, that's your most positive post of all time!

Apart from hiring Lambert over the past five years has there been anything positive from the first team during that period?

I think I have to agree with JAL about Hardcastle last night, I think he struggled til the final 15 minutes. Thats no slight on the lad either as Chelsea look a very good team. Still has potential but don't think he particularly impressed.

Where was Mols tonight? Anyone know?

Isn't Mols a year younger than the lads who played which begs the question how many of the lads who played last night will be eligible to play for the under 18's next season.

On that performance Hardcastle would do nothing in Rovers first team if that's his best.

To be honest I didn't see much evidence of players ready to make the step up immediately. There was one or two promising ones for the future.

Wanted to see greater accuracy in their forward movement on Friday evening, thought it was pretty low, below 50%. Which is no wonder they didn't score despite coming close once.

Hopefully next time out down at Stamford Bridge they'll all know that their pass, cross, shot, header or whatever will have to be far more accurate than what they showed at Ewood if they are to progress.

You couldnt fault their effort and commitment though.
