Terrible place. Right near where I work, there's always scruffy looking buggers hanging around outside. There are some decent pubs in Ipswich but you have to venture into the town centre to find them, the ones around the football ground are pretty dire.

We stayed over and went to a Liquid nightclub, remember them! It was bizarre, we got searched for chewing gum on the way in, it was like stepping into the 80's all the blokes in formal shoes and shirts for a night out, time warp.

Liquid was dreadful. The shirts and shoes thing was mainly done by the underage lads to look mature enough to get in. Usually it made them stick out like sore thumbs, but liquid had so many underagers inside it basically became the dress code.

Lambert said "a lot came to watch" (meaning away fans) how many were that then? Sure I read less than 200 tickets sold at some point yesterday.

Not sure whether to expect more of the same on Saturday or not certainly don't think we will see Brown, Jackson, Akpan from the start. If you give away a stupid penalty you deserve to be dropped.

Good thing the international break is coming up.

Throwing the drummer out after he'd walked in with it ? Why didn't they just take the damn thing off him. Fair play to the lad going all that way and prepared to bang his drum to support our team and I hope he gets a refund.

Any player or someone from the club reading this if you want to earn some 'browny' points and a bit of good PR get all over this one and pay the lads costs !

Regarding Brown, Chris Sutton summed it up politely on Radio Lancs, "He hasn't scored in 37 games and he won't score because he doesn't get in the right positions."

Very true. He also doesn't shoot - which for a fwd is just plain daft.

What was with the drummer last night, fair play to him for going for it, but the short period he banged it it sounded terrible and slightly happy it stopped!

They had there drummer banging the odd time but what he did kept a tune or beat!

Highlight of the night was drummer and plastic bag on pitch!

Nephews have asked if they can go to another game?!?! Didn't learn there lesson last night!

he had a pretty good chance last night bundled around his feet and blasted it high and wide, anyone with a bit of skill or class or slight ounce of a strikers brain would of hit it first touch was in the 6 yard box. what a joke of a striker. fans chanted give us a wave to chris brown he just ignored and ipswich fans laughed. he's got to go, he should not be aloud near the pitch, crowd cheered when he did something right thats standard for a footballer, i don't no if its sarcasm or because he's such a bad footballer no one expects him to achieve it?

Stop trying to defend Brown's inclusion. It is indefensible.

Always attack or defend.

The point I made is, many players let us down. I argued that singling out Brown made little sense or added anything to debate. Especially considering we are completely limited by our choices.

Once again, I'll spell this out for anyone choosing to make such remarks- I'll trust those in charge to make a more informed view on who they choose to play or sign. Funnily enough, a successful manager in this league signed a player certain fans singled out as "useless"(who also set up the second..)

Whilst I've never, EVER, EVVVVVEEEERR, said that I rate CB, he's slow and workmanlike, never looked like scoring and only had isolated games he's impacted- I will find it laughable calling his inclusion indefensible.

Just like the poster who described not replacing him in January as something similar to unforgivable- does that apply to Rhodes, Olsson, Cairney(who we never replaced initially), Taylor, Henley, Duffy if you go off some opinions here, Spurr, Steels etc... Was there ever the finance or structure to redevelop in January as such?

The whole team needs a refit. I could not agree with anyone who would choose to single out one player or issue. It's going to take time and patience whilst PL gets his team the way he wants it. Trust his judgement on the day. If, after any suspensions, fitness or injuries, he thought CB was the best man in our team for the job on Tuesday- I can go with it.

As for the other stuff this afternoon, it took 20 minutes to trawl through all the personal remarks and explanation to find ALs post to even reply, never mind get the thoughts of those who attended. Those personal remarks and explanations are increasing the workload for the mods and impacting how useful these threads are. What parson or anyone for that matter said a year ago is little use to a match thread.

He isn't defending himself though is he? That's my point. In fact, he's been conspicuous by his absence lately one might argue. In any case, it's for the moderating team to decide when our stepping in is required.

I havent been posting much as usual due to work and family commitments but still looking/reading the site but not posting as much.

Also I wont reply to any questions or reply to any PM from them, I just simply ignore them and dont get take them on.

I wont defend myself to these posters either cos I really cant be bothered.

I will of course keep posting my views and some news items.

so much for all those games in hand

We got 3 points from our 2 games in hand, not a bad return against Boro and away to Ipswich

Considering Boro got beaten by the likes of Charlton and Rotherham recently it's hard to even consider that a scalp now, especially as the teams below us have also benefited from taking full points off Boro.

We played a team that with a point would have gone top of the league and had our former star striker up front - it was a smashing win no matter how they have done since.

I think you're being argumentative for the sake of it with that post. There are certain players who aren't quite good enough and then there's Brown who takes it to a different level completely and is arguably the worst player I've ever seen playing for Rovers over the last 45 years. In fact I've been posting less after being drawn into a spat with some woman defending Brown. It simply isn't worth the effort anymore.

Chris Sutton appears to sum it up nicely. He never ever even threatens the goal or gets into any dangerous positions. Can he do better? Probably. Does he care? Probably not. Has he been stealing money for the last 2 years from the Club? Absolutely. It's about time people stopped defending players who have brought the Club to its knees for me. Brown is no better than the likes of Danny Murphy or Leon Best in my eyes. Stealing money off the Club and sticking two fingers up at the fans with his so called performances.

In fairness to Brown, he has had two operations on the same knee in the past eighteen months. Anyone who has had involvement in any sport know that knee problems are the worst kind to try to overcome. I spoke to Brown earlier this year at an away game and believe me the lad is distraught with the injury problems he is now incurring. I wouldn't accuse people who have to take time off work because of illness as stealing a living and the same with professional sportsmen who succumb to injury which impacts on their performance on the pitch.

IF HE AINT FIT ENOUGH HE SHOULDNT BE PLAYING , if its that serious then he best retire.

On the bottom point I agree and its exactly why some players have been rested recently but then people seem to disagree when that happens as well!

Not sure there is a player in the squad fit enough.

Eh... Not sure you can really compare Brown to loafers like Murphy & Best.

Those two had the ability but chose to squander it at our expense.

Brown might be a lot of things but he doesn't lack for graft.

I see your point but players who have an injury that prevents them from playing properly don't play. If his knees are bad he should retire and the manager should not pick him. I do not want to see his ilk in blue and white. It spoils the game for me.
