Stanley

Always had a soft spot for Stanley - mainly due to mates who watched them when they were totally in the middle of nowhere and who came out in the pubs afterwards.

In the past, the people running the club were just normal guys like us, its almost like BRFCS running Rovers. They have clearly moved onto bigger and better things, mainly by luck from the Brett Ormerod sale and a cup game or two, but I dont begrudge them anything. In fact if they get promoted its as much of a shock as Leicester winning the league.

Still remember them playing Crewe at Ewood a few years ago in the FA Cup.

I have a soft spot for Venkys.too...Its called Morecambe Sands though.....The Stanley story shows how important is that you have a manager and coaching team who gel..The last couple of years before Colemans return were not that sparkling....

I know a few Accy fans who also follow Rovers.

There's also some sadly deluded ones who point the other way (if you know what I mean).

It's great to see a local club with a long chequered history doing well.

It must really be something to support a team that's never, ever been promoted (within the traditional football league structure) before in well over 100 years!

You'd be simply bursting especially as it's so tight at the top.

Good luck to 'em.

Most the nation have suddenly become Leicester fans for this week so Don't see why anyone should cant support Stanley on their own day in the sun.next week..if only for a day ...Accrington have another Leicester like scenerio .Just as Chelsea would love to finish off Spurs for them ,Stanleys promotion spoliers Oxfordsfinal game is a derby gameat home with wycombe who hate them with a passion and would love to help out

Accrington Victoria hospital is just 500 yards away from their ground so .Special Cardiac unit on standby.next .Saturday.as the news from other grounds rolls in .

The Burnley derby is spoiled nowadays but generally ,local teams in the same league with grounds cheap and easy to get to for away games is a plus point not a negative...Hope Stanley can join us one day in the Championship,,but not in Leaque One...

Oxford & Bristol will spoil the party if Stanley just draw they both win...(both at home so very very likely)...Oxford have Rovers ex Appleton as manager..Oxfords Match with Wycombe is another Chelsea Spurs affair. but its at Oxford..They are Wycombes local derby rivals and its a grand day out for Wycombes fans if they can stop Oxford going up even though theres nowt else for em to play for, this season..,

Our Mess is not Accys fault and Im one who believes, the more local teams in our division the better..Local teams are good to go to for away games..so I m all for Stanley coming up and then again season after..

Gutting for Stanley. Bristol Rovers scoring in added time to knock them out of an automatic promotion slot.

Would fancy them against Wimbledon but they will be swamped by opposition support at Wembley whichever of Pompey and Plymouth win through the other semi-final.

Got to be long shot outsiders for promotion now.

The fat lady hasn't started singing yet.

If they overcome Wimbledon and reach Wembley, they will expect to take around 10k fans. If they are up against Pompey, Pompey will no doubt have 40k fans there and, if it's Plymouth, they should have upwards of 30k supporters backing them.

Will Accy freeze on the day? Hope not.
