As usual, no idea how to read this news other than the general idea that it's probably not good. We make someone joint MD and within a few weeks hey are gone leaving the FD as MD as well. Not sure how that works but who knows how anything works in this club. Maybe we are getting a proper management structure in....not holding my breath.

Slight over reaction to an over promoted sky news reporter getting the sack from his probably over paid job at our club. Good riddance and let's hope the venksters have woken up.

I wonder if Cheston might follow Myers out the door considering he's his former Everton colleague. Sometimes people like that come and go in twos. By the way Cheston was "acting chief executive" at Everton for a while. So if he's the "highest executive" at Ewood now it might not be a major issue until a new chairman comes in. He might be perfectly competent in the role anyway several people get career promotions after all...

Six month notice period, so hasn't officially gone yet. Maybe he's hoping to force a payout - although no so much a Myers statement as a leaked internal email.

Nothing official yet from the club - when's the next quarterly meeting with Venkys?

If he is working his notice the only pay off he can get is his notice being paid up. This is no pay off, it is his contract.

Surely there'd be an NDA as well, that seems to be a given under this ownership.

So he's left on his own accord,I think there could have been a conflict with Mike Chestern, who seems to have different views to Myers, believe one of them was that Chestern wanted to hike up season tickets, seemed Myers was more in touch with the supporters and Chestern an accountant, just interested in accounts.

If we're after a new CEO, then it's apparent we're re-evaluating the current board structure.

For months people have been questioning Myers' ill-defined role at the club. Now he's leaving it's panic stations.

According to Shaw the final decision on season ticket prices lies with the owners. Apparently there was a desire from Shaw/Cheston last season to further increase prices but Venkys refused to allow it. Not sure how true that is as it might be a cheap attempt to build the owners popularity, but if it is true then it won't matter what Cheston wants to do this season as he will need Venkys to approve it.

My guess is that Myers has bitten off more than he can chew here. Lets remember he was previously a reporter for Sky Sports who spent his afternoons stood outside training grounds talking about transfer rumours. He came in here from Everton with a remit to boost the clubs image and improve supporter relations. 2 years down the line, having had significant health issues in the meantime, and he's now doing 3 jobs at once following the departures of Shaw and Biggar. I don't think Myers ever came here expecting to be almost running the club from Ewood and he probably isn't qualified to do it anyway. Being Commercial, Communications and joint-Managing director all at once must put some strain on him. The departure of Shaw leaves him at the front of the firing line for all complaints from fans/employees at Ewood.

Whatever salary he is on probably isn't reflective of doing 3 jobs at once and he's probably decided he can do without the stress. No doubt he'll walk back into a job at Sky Sports.

Not good news. Myers is obviously unhappy with his role. Suggests to me that the owners still don't understand how a football club should be run. Things like this inevitably tend to rub off on others. Let's hope Lambert isn't one.

Better change the subject title slightly as he appears to be serving 6 months notice before leaving.

Funny how Wheelock says Biggar left for "a position in New York" as if he can't "lower himself" to say WWE! Even funnier he then mentions Shaw's "prestigious" position at Ribble Valley Shelving!

At least it looks like the LT have broken some news for once.

Don't think so they worked together just fine at Everton...unless it was different periods?

I think the most important line in the LT piece is; Suhail Pasha, Venkys long term advisor and conduit has been placed at Ewood on and off since Lambert took charge. I think its quite likely that he will become our CEO.

You might not have seen my past comments on Pasha but he won't be. I've been told by someone very close to Venkys that he hates publicity and BRAG's meeting minutes from March further confirm it.

We complain for 2 years that the guy is 'invisible'(and he was). Now he is getting away we should be happy.

If either no-one or Pune are running the Club why have the pretence of paying 'chancers' too much money to just fiddle about round the edges. Cmon guys his role is "Director of Communications"....trumped up,over-paid and no real sympathetico with the concept of Blackburn Rovers.

Another Chapter of the "How not to run a British Football Club"

Two ways to look at this. Either the club is still a shambles and he's jumping ship before it grounds. Or he's been extremely ill, come through it and now has been tasked with doing thee stressful jobs and possibly feels he's earned enough and doesn't need the stress. The way our club I'd it's hard to opt for one or the other. But it is a reasonable assumption that a guy who knew the media circuit, was employed to basically use those talents to win back the fans, yet got promoted above his ability and experience, may well just have realised he wasnt doing what he wanted and wasn't doing a great job of it. I think it's another worrying story emanating from the club. But I'm not sure it's necessarily dooms day just yet. I think we'll see by the calibre of his replacement just how bad things have got.

I doubt it.

Got to be worried on the bit in the LT piece where it says he'd got frustrated. Add that to what Mark Fish of BRAG said his parting shot (if he wasn't allowed to do his best for the club he would leave) was at the last meeting and it makes uncomfortable reading.
