Myers is football savvy and knows what effect a managerial change can have on the atmosphere around the club. Whether or not he had any input in the decision to remove Bowyer and appoint Lambert, he certainly at the very least embraced it and attempted to exploit it to improve the atmosphere around the club. He could see what effect it had on the fans and wanted to use it to improve the feeling around the club.

- Tea and biscuits with the new manager

- Using Lambert's picture on posters to sell half season tickets

I'm sure going forward there would have been a lot more from Myers attempting to build up a better atmosphere and engage fans in a new era going forward.

There's no doubt that he got word that the money wouldn't be forthcoming and that Lambert would be walking and decided to get out now. His position would have been hard enough as it was, this summer it will be impossible.

Quite a list of directors building up that have fallen victim and moved on/been sacked in the space of 5 years under Venkys:

John Williams

Tom Finn

Martin Goodman

Richard Matthewman

Paul Hunt

Simon Hunt

Karen Silk

Mahesh Gupta

Vineeth Rao

Shebby Singh

Paul Agnew

Derek Shaw

Alan Myers

Dave Biggar

A collection of people who have nearly all decided they can't or won't work for these owners or who have been sacked for whatever reason. The one constant has been Venkys ownership of the club.

There are other awful owners around of course who are making a mess their clubs big style but how many have a rap sheet like Venkys ? Factor in all the managers, coaches, other staff and players who've come and gone through the revolving door and it really is unique in terms of it's ridiculousness.

The turnover and dismantling of this club must be some kind of record in English football. About time it was highlighted correctly by the press to give the outside world an idea of what these stupid goons have put this club through. It would help for when it all kicks off again which it surely will.

Disgrace.

The one stand out who has remained silent throughout their entire tenure .........R .Coar ! Can somebody please explain

It's good someone has brought up Coar because this fella constantly hiding in the shadows not seeming to give a fluuck is another absolute disgrace.

He's either quite happy with what's gone on or he's too comfy on his freeloading gravy train that he won't speak out or it's over. Either way the mans a joke and why hasn't he been seriously dug out by someone from the local media in the last 5 years ?

Even if the fella did select Lambert and persuade Vs to appoint him, why was that a good move? It turned out that Lambert was totally unsuitable as he had completely different ideas about the direction of the club so the appointment was another expensive disaster. It just built hopes up and brought them crashing down again. They should have stuck with Bowyer.

Nothing sgsinst Lambert as a manager btw but he was the wrong man at the wrong time for us so that makes a bad appointment.

Only my opinion but I feel his appointment kept us up although I know they were probably praying we'd go the other way. A change at the time was needed and if it wasn't someone like Lambert who got the defence a bit tighter, the midfielder a bit more competitive and brought in a genuine target man then we'd have been in trouble for sure.

We needed someone pragmatic at that moment in time, especially to er, oversee a big sale of the main man and limit the fall out.
