Yes but any poll is meaningless unless you only surveyed the people who currently have season tickets there - if you sit in the Riverside why would you care? For those of us who want to take young children to the game the upper tier is perfect - the view is superb and the atmosphere still decent.

Moving to the lower tier makes no sense - the view is much worse and so is the atmosphere. If it's so much better for families, why have they not already chosen to sit there? I cannot understand the logic of this when the club is in such dire straits - why would they want to alienate a significant chunk of the loyal (and future) support by imposing this on them?

Everyone knows the only way to improve attendances and the overall atmosphere is to have a successful team - so why the club aren't 100% focussed on achieving that, and are instead concentrating on this kind of Kean is beyond me.

I have been in the Riverside for a number of years now - but if they said we are moving you to the JW to save money I would go (though for other reasons I may not be able to get a ST this year anyway). Just in the same way when I was in the DE Lower and we got moved for "big" matches I understood the rationale.

Bottom line - nobody is forcing you to sit in the FS - go to the JW Upper instead and still have an elevated view - or are the seats in the FS heavily subsidised in comparison to other areas of the ground ?

Nothing was signed last year either which held question marks over the manager and those running it straight away. It proved true. Now just a soulless franchise run by an accountant.

They say move the gantry. and to whoever asked - the letter isn't signed. It just says Blackburn rovers.

Moving the gantry will further obstruct the view of those at the back of the Riverside. More angry fans. More money wasted. Well done Rovers!

How are they going to move the camera? There are pillars in the way.

They'll spend a pointless fortune doing it then next close season they'll say the riverside is knackered and close it. Home support will end up with the JW and BBE lower eventually.

DMTP will pop up and say it's a good idea !

Don't tell them, it will spoil the fun of the goons finding out when it is too late

Oh that would be brilliant. The venkys watching on Tv and having to lean around the pillar blocking the goalmouth.

It is a great idea. The money we save on stewards can help pay for a couple more loan players.

The gantry is surely going to be on TOP of the Riverside, not hanging down as per the JW stand? Access from behind the Riverside. Thats the only way I can imagine it can work.

Is anybody else starting to feel like this is some sort of Trueman Show style experiment? Soon enough we'll all lose our minds and the curtains will open revealing its all just been a wind up to test human patience?

There was a fairly solid rumour that they were looking to rebuild the entire stand and include some form of health facility. Just cannot see where the gantry will go, the pillars are on about row 12ish, so they will have to be in front of this.

Personally im in favour of these changes, i think a shuffling of the pack is long of due and also ive always found it strange that the tv gantry wasnt moved to the riverside long long ago.

You Are in favour of it but you don't attend never mind sit in the family stand

Yeah that would make more sense. The bigger issue in all of this for me is closing the Darwen End for home fans, get everyone back together. The supporter base is divided.

You agree that people with children who have sat in the same area for years should be forced either into an area exposed to the elements and with a worse view, or should pay more to go in the JW upper. How can that possibly be anything other than a PR faux pas?

Ontop of that there is no discussion with them about it. They get a faceless letter telling them it's all about our 'global appeal'.

Here's a revolutionary idea why not price the new area and the BBE upper the same piece and give family's the option!

Havent, heir been plans drawn up for for over 10 years about rebuildong the riverside stand(and also having and new train stop added up the hill behind the ground) could this not be the first steps into setting that in motion.

The plans and drawings for the riverside redevelopment were completed I believe back in the mid 90s. The same company involved in the redevelopment of Chelsea Village was involved.

However this was back when the hotel was part of the redevelopment and I can't see that that vision of Jack Walkers is viable or affordable anymore. Any redevelopment in the future would be on a much smaller scale surely than when Jack was 'thinking big'.

I dont always attend, but when i do i find it a mind numbingly dull affair off the pitch, ;m in fsvour of anything that shakes things up a little, people are just stubborn and set in their ways.

It was the Frank Whittle Partnership from Preston who drew up the plans. They are doing the new stand at Accy and also designed Dumpdale.

As I've said before, there is a mock up in the board room of the "new" Riverside, shelved during JW's years as we couldn't fill what we had, even in the PL.

As for those that think it is ok to just move those of us in the FS on, without so much as a chat, is disgusting, and you should be ashamed.

It's a sign of the times. They are putting up prices, to watch an inferior product. I do not want to sit where they have ear marked. I don't want to sit in the JW stand at all.

They have lost 2 ST holders in one fell swoop. I'm doing an Abbey.....not going till they've gone.
